And that Megadeth song read as "lyrics" is nothing more than an angry siuicide note.(interesting backstory about that song also)
But the music makes it much much more.
saw Megadeth on their Peace Sells tour...Great show! To break it down even further, their music is nothing without Dave Ellefsons Bass.

The Ball of Kerry Muir, various artists (last verse)...

The village magician he was there
he gave us all a laugh.
He pulled his foreskin over his head
and he vanished up his ass.

"You don't like the way your life is goin,
You don't like the way you are in the world,
anything around you,
you can check out anytime you like.

Animals aren't allowed that thought
and believe me, if they were, they
would use it.
There'd be a lot of dogs and cats, owned by assholes
that live in high-rises, diving out the windows.

You'll miss sex-you'll miss thinking about it,
looking for it, sex by yourself, sex with a partner,
sex with multiple partners...

No more summer nights that seem to go on forever...
You'll miss the feeling you get when reminiscing about your first love-
thirty years after the fact...

Music, you will definetly miss music...

Getting stoned, reading Green Eggs & Ham, and
eating like a horse that got loose in the grain bin...

Flying cars...

Hey, you were born-Finish what you started."

Suicide song by Bobby Gaylor

These are just a few of the lines...so many more.
If you don't know this song you should check out all the lyrics...very poignant. Chokes me up every time I hear it.

Saw that one too(OverKill was opening!)
1986 was a good year for metal.
I have seen Megadeth over 20 times since then, and Yes... the other Dave does make it better, at least for the earlier songs.
Supposedly he is back now into the fold...

We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.

We drove from Three Forks,MT to SCL at some tinyass hockey rink at the fairgrounds.
some Conan the barbarian wannabe with a BonJovi jacket had razorblades on his tassels in the moshpit and there were multiple ambulances there after the concert was over.
I even got a slice is my brand new concert tee, right across the chest....and I LOVED it!!

Thanks, Fishy, you pretty much nailed it on the head.

Harvey Danger, What You Live By

Meet me up on 99
Beneath the Marco Polo sign
I'll be the one with a box of wine
And the hundred-dollar car.

We'll talk about the lives we've led;
count the reason's we're not dead
(or maybe we can talk instead
about the ways in which we are.)
“We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.”

Lather was thirty years old today,
They took away all of his toys.
His mother sent newspaper clippings to him,
About his friends who had stopped being boys.
There was Harwitz E. Green, just turned thirty-three,
His leather chair waits at the bank.
And Sargent Dow Jones, twenty-seven years old,
Commanding his very own tank.
But Lather still finds it a nice thing to do,
To lie about nude in the sand,
Drawing pictures of mountains that look like bumps
And thrashing the air with his hands.

But wait, oh Lathers' productive you know,
He produces the finest of sound,
Putting drumsticks on either side of his nose,
Snorting the best licks in town,

But that's all over...

Lather was thirty years old today
And lather came foam from his tongue.
He looked at me, eyes wide, and plainly say,
"Is it true that I'm no longer young?"
And the children call him famous,
What the old men call insane.
And sometimes, he's so nameless,
That he hardly knows what game to play,
Which words to say.

And I should have told him, 'No, you're not old.'
And I should have let him go on... smiling... babywide.

She hides in an attic concealed on a shelf
Behind volumes of literature based on herself
And runs across the pages like some tiny elf
Knowing that it's hard to find
Stuff way back in her mind,
Winds up spending all of her time
Trying to memorize every line

Sweet Lorraine, ah, sweet Lorraine.
Sweet lady of death wants me to die
So she can come sit by my bedside and sigh
And wipe away the tears from all my friends eyes
Then softly she will explain
Just exactly who was to blame
For causing me to go insane
And finally blow out my brain,
Sweet Lorraine, ah, sweet Lorraine.

Well you know that it's a shame and a pity
You were raised up in the city
And you never learned nothing 'bout country ways,
Ah, 'bout country ways.

The joy of life she dresses in black
With celestial secrets engraved in her back
And her face keeps flashing that she's got the knack,
But you know when you look into her eyes
All she's learned she's had to memorize
And the only way you'll ever get her high
Is to let her do her thing and then watch you die,
Sweet Lorraine, ah, sweet Lorraine.

Now she's the one who gives us all those magical things
And reads us stories out of the I Ching,
Then she passes out a whole new basket of rings
That when you put on your hand
Makes you one of the Angel Band
And gives you the power to be a man,
But what it does for her you never quite understand
Sweet Lorraine, ah, sweet Lorraine.

Well you know that it's a shame and a pity
You were raised up in the city
And you never learned nothing 'bout country ways,
Oh 'bout country ways, oh 'bout country ways,
Yeah, about country ways, oh, country ways ...
