Thank you one and all. I've been feeling myself up since I heard the news! If I was any happier I'd flash each and every one of you!
But in all honesty, I was worried to death. It was scary.

Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Fucking glad it all worked out. I didn't want to tell this story until you had the test.
I had an area I was concerned about. A nurse friend of mine took one look and told me to get into the doctor. I went. His bedside manner was definitely lacking. First thing he says even before the biopsy was...
"Oh yah. That's cancer. Don't know if it is the killer kind yet but we'll find out after the tests are complete."
You can imagine how I felt since this was my first time and knowing nothing about cancer. That one ended up being Squamous cell carcinoma, kind of in between the common Basal cell carcinoma and killer Melanomas. It is more aggressive than Basal cell carcinoma and can invade the lymph nodes and other organs. But just his comment was enough to make a person a wee bit nervous.
Now that I know what I'm looking for I have them frozen or cut out as I spot them. I have a physical scheduled for next month and have already noted two that have to be dealt with. Way too much time in the sun.

I like doctors that tell me the plain truth.
Some people don't want to know, even some in medical.
I think there must be two different kinds of people in this regard.
I can't really relate to not wanting to know.
I remember my surgeon saying, "This may be hard for you to read...' holding up the mri.
It wasn't.
Oddly, I didn't ask many questions.
The way they rushed me into icu and kept waiting for me to stroke out, was a sort of hint, even in my impaired state.
I watched a marathon of mad doctor neurosurgeon films all night waiting for surgery.
Don't fuck with me.

The fucking TSA sure makes it confusing on what you can bring on board and what you can't. In the end I'm like fuck it, take hardly anything, buy the rest when you get there, then dump it when you leave.
Seriously....there's page after fucking webpage on the hassles of flying with fucking toothpaste. And deodorant is not covered. But you can take shaving cartridges...it's enough to make one lobby even harder for the restoration of passenger rail. Or drive...which is what I always try to do.
But my ultimate fucking complaint is I will be in San Francisco...I've drove through it. I know where the two bridges are. I kinda know where the airport is. But beyond that I'm going to be without a car...equipped with basically an android phone...and winging it. This could be horrible...or the best fucking trip ever. I know one thing...this will be a wild week! Still can't believe I'm pulling this whole thing off.
If anyone has app recommendations for the phone that would help me find my way around and that actually work...I would greatly appreciate it.

When you live in Vegas almost every day is a fucking adventure. So far I love it here. I occasionally miss things like green trees and the occasional snow...but not having to trim trees or shovel 2 feet of fucking Colorado snow is nice.
Sounds like you really do have an experience coming up...my hunch is it will work out for you and likely turn out better than you expected.

I'm going to be busy for a few days but when I get back in town...I can help you out. I'll do a shameless plug for the site called vegaschatter.com because they've been really informative. Don't ask me to find the NY style pizza place in the Cosmopolitan...haven't found that yet. But I would be more than happy to help you out with finding anything and everything as that's what I do now. Just let me get this huge, ultra high pressure career lifting uber trip from hell out of the way first.graidawg wrote:Kinetic I didnt realise you lived in vegas! sweet (now comes the mooch) i haven't booked a hotel or anything . . . . . . . . . . . .Kinetic V wrote:When you live in Vegas almost every day is a fucking adventure. San Francisco without a car is real interesting. BART's ticket system for a first timer seriously sucks...my impressions on the subject count as I can help shape public policy on transportation issues nationwide...and I will be sharing my experiences where it really counts.
I have a special FUCK YOU to the parking cops who were out after midnight ticketing taxis picking up people. I'm no lawyer but what I shot on video last night will toss that ticket for the cabbie out the door fast...I made sure the cabbie got a copy of the video so he can fight the bullshit ticket.....
But otherwise....I'm starting to kinda like S.F. but damn, this place makes Vegas prices look downright dirt cheap!

Fuck, fucking CC number has been stolen. Lots of online charges, fortunately customer service was efficient and swift. That was our fucking daily card with the really good rebates. Fucking lowlife asswipes, I hope they choke on their itunes and zazzle gear and flowers. Yeah, the biggest charges were to an online florist, repeatedly!!!!! Fucking fucked up fuckers.
