...if you are mounting them on your art car, one would think you know how to build them already...otherwise it is a hope.....you have read the stuff on the BM site about building dangerous art safely?

....many people who could answer your questions will not post on an open forum.

...try posting your city, and asking if there is anyone nearby who can help you with your "Flame Effect Device" (hint, hint - a "Flamethrower" is a weapon of war, and a destructive device under Federal Law...requiring a class III permit)...this knowledge tends to be handed down from Teacher to Student in person...but if you look there are sites on the internet with info...

if that doesn't pan-out;

Begin by learning how pipe, fittings, and thread types are specified...

Know the difference between schedule 40, schedule 80, and what BM requires...

Read national fire codes NFP-54 and NFP-160

Experiment well in advance in a safe area and learn how to ignite propane...and how much propane is required for your desired effect.

The DMV requires a flame effects permit, have you checked that out yet?

My best advice Ajax...sign up for a class at the Crucible. While its eplaya, we still have to obey the TOS.

While I am reasonably certain you are refering to a propane fueled "flame effects device" , AKA poofer, AKA flame cannon I must conceed there is a chance you are refering to a liquid fueled device. If that is the case I suggest you start by reading the information on the website. If you still have specific questions, the address below is the best place to get answers for what you wish to build. You will NOT get specifics on how to build it, but you will get answers to specific questions. Please be aware that very few laminates are issued for mobile liquid fueled devices. You have to convince the powers that be that you know exactly what you are doing, you have experience doing it and you can be trusted to build and operate it safely.
And BTW you do not want to shoot a liquid fueled device "straight up". There is usually some rain down.

An important distinction... "flame effect devices" are unregulated in 39(?) states.
