I will most likely be going to my first Burn this year, since my trip to Israel seems to have been canceled and refunded to me...

Awww! So come this year!
I was supposed to go on Birthright, but I apparently was 'too honest" in my interview, told them I had been a guest at a UU church once in the last year, and they told me "no real jew would ever set foot in a church" and that I affiliated myself with a church structure and was no longer eligible.

Still bitter, but it means I will go to burn instead. Trading one desert for another!

Well, here's one Jew that lived near Cleveland. Norwalk, OH (the county seat of Huron County) 61 miles SSW of Cleveland. I remember listening to the Indians play on 3WE. We have a bunch of Buckeyes in Barbie Death Camp. If you're interested try PMing me. Yeah, what Jew would ever hang at a death camp? Well, you'd be surprised what we do in the name of "art". Or something.

Oh dear, I guess I'm very un-jewish, having had the jewish grandfather, anyway.

Well, at least I don't have to rethink my ideas on many Isrealis being horrible assholes. I like it when I can be lazy.

Hi Dara,

I love embarrassing stories, although it appears you don't have enough of them about C, or he has wisely bribed you into silence. Ah, well.

Welcome!

When someone from Cleveland starts talking about embarrassing stories, I wonder if that's the type of material that Drew Carey worked from.
Of course, my father grew up in Cleveland Hights, so you'd think I'd wonder if they were like my father/s stories. But my father doesn't have a lot of stories about growing up, so I have to resort to a sitcom. Sort of a metaphor for growing up in the second half of the 20th Century.

Well if anyone is interested in Cleveland, we have two very well produced tourism videos for your viewing pleasure... although I'm closer to Parma. So google "Parma State of Mind."

Why would a Jew hang out in a death camp?

I know the guy who ran the radioshack in Norwalk, does that count?

foodlovesme, the reason a Jew would hang out at (Barbie) death camp is that, as an observant Jew myself, we make light of what otherwise would be a subject mostly left in the shadows. As only Nixon could go to China, only a Jew (like myself, thankyouverymuch) could do this. Google us, you'll find that we are not all that bad, depending upon your point of view.
