Franklin was not. Even with 18th century plumbing, he managed to bathe more than once a year.

In burner parlance "hippie" means something close to freeloader, and in a gift society that's a major thumb in the eye of the social contract. Then there's that atrocious language that they use to justify themselves...

It is also helpful to remind people that the Hippy infestation is ongoing.

Please take care when you check into a hotel room in Reno either pre or post event. Check your sheets, use a flashlight to check the outlets in the room. Look for visual signs they they might be present, casings, cast off, spoor, beads, roaches, etc.

A key indicator that hippies may be present is the slight odor of body funk and patchouli. If that is present, contact hotel management and have them check under the bed.

Yeah, the Burning Man experience was way better before the latest emergence of the counterculture influence. Still, I would not like a completely clean cut, buttoned up Burning Man as much even if we were able to avoid having to witness some of the more undesirable types of self-expression. Some types of self-expression (ours) is always better than others (theirs). We could possibly cut down on the Hippie element if we were to make Burning Man more commercialized - perhaps even let a major corporation sponsor it. I'm being sarcastic for those who might not have caught on to that fact.
