Some things that either I or people I know have forgotten to bring:
Their ticket. (I know no less than three people who have done this.)
Their clothes. (unfortunately, this was me last year.)
Oil for their generator. (I don't think this person even knew it needed oil, so this might not actually be something "forgotten")

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

My first year, I forgot an extra set of flashlight batteries. (I fell asleep with my flashlight on.) Someone from my camp went into Gerlach for supplies midweek and asked if I wanted anything, and so batteries--& a delicious 6-pack of Sprite--were what I wanted.
Travel alarm. (Handy for disco naps prior to a night of dancing, or waking up in time for volunteer shifts.) Had to pick one up halfway down, last year.

Ticket is number 1. You don't want to turn back to get it or pay again.
-I forgot my pillow last year.
-Also bring 2 jackets you don't mind losing. I accidentally only brought one and it got lost.
-Back up bike lock. I lost part of my bike lock last year and this led to my break down of the week. Lucky for me a fellow burner lent me one of his so I could continue using my bike.

I missed Megatropolis blowing up last year cause I had no idea what time it was... ever.![]()
So only necessary if you plan on showing up on time for stuff, like events on the schedule.
Don't worry, it was just another explosion.
But I still wanted to see it! I don't think I caught any explosions last year...

Canned (compressed) air. Man did I wish I had brought some last time. Great for getting that dust out of things like the inside of your sunglasses or on your camera lens where blowing will simply not do it and water just leaves streaks.
Diving case for cameras. Some cameras suck in air as they zoom or focus, which can cause them to die from dust getting inside. At least one person in my camp had a camera die this way. You might consider a diving case for any camera you have.
Cheap face masks. You know, those packs you can get for $2 for 5 at a camping site. They make nice gifts for those people who forget.
Carabiners - At least for me, I get paranoid that something I brought will fall out of my pocket and get lost... like my damn sunglasses last time :(

What a great idea. In all the times I've been to the playa I've never even thought about bringing compressed air. It's now on the list!BBadger wrote:Canned (compressed) air.

I always have a decent first aid kit with me. The likelihood of that particular injury happening again are quite marvelously slim, but I hope you will ask me next time. One year I forgot a stove, and a few years before that I forgot the canisters for the stove. Last year I had enough ibuprofen for headaches and the like. But I ran out a few days before I left because of an injury. As such, I'm going to bring full bottles for now on.
Seriously, I'm scandalized.
