Virgin Burning 2011

Post by Dominic » Fri Apr 08, 2011 3:24 pm

Ordered my entry and I’m excited and ready to meet everyone, yes ALL 40,000+ I have wanted to join BM for years and 2011 is when it all happens for me, I can’t wait to call Black Rock City HOME. I have been on BM.com and the BM page on FB, all I can say is I’M READY! This will not only be my first burn, but I’m going solo, so what happens on the playa stays on the playa, well from want I hear the playa comes home with you in every crack and crevis…lol  My mind, heart, soul and who know what else is open to experience everything the Man has in store for me. As I write this I can feel him calling me home. Please say Hi and I look forward to having the time of my life. See you in 148 days.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

In a nutshell-

2005 was my first burn. I did the volunteer gig with DPW from about May til the event itself going out on weekends to look for MOOP from the previous year, clean at the ranch, build parts for the lampposts for the lamplighters, and shoot shit. Got to the even a week early to help with shade assemblies on a ticket gifted to me from BMORG for my volunteer work, so I gifted my ticket to some random person. DJ'd the 12am-? shift on BMIR 'cause of contacts I made while working with DPW. Linked up with Thunderdome and got in as a "puller" for the week and was able to fight in it on Friday night. Was a 1st year founding member of Apokiliptika and built the guard tower for the camp and had it up by the time they arrived to start the rest of the set-up. Also supplied the Hookahs that year and coffee.. morning coffee - very important. Drank way too much, slept way too little, yelled at people in a drunken stupor through a cone and got a medal for being a big mouth on Burn night... Was blown away by the art, the peole and the city.

I think that covers it.. :P

Bob...yes I feel solo is best for my first time, I have friends that want to go but I dont feel they are ready, not for me to say but when they start asking me if they can take 30min showers in my solar shower I think they need to rethink the burn, lol

Aloe Vera may help with that burning feeling.
