my bike has decided to wear a swarm of blue dragonly-shaped LEDs in keeping with my 'electric fairyland' motif.
to that end, I have just silicon-sealed the dragonfly bodies onto their LEDs and sealed a few bits where water or dust could get in the electronics.

Tent went up today and the new poles I made worked great. Ahhhh - the fragrance of Playa dust.

Are you leaving the tent up? Supposed to be pretty windy tomorrow...

Actually set it up in the garage. Once I saw the poles worked I took the tent down and put it away. For the Playa I also have an exo-skelton of half inch PVC to help keep the tent from flying away. All is held down with Playa staples. I just want to make sure the tent poles themselves were the right length. The orignal had a number of sections where the fiberglass had split.

Definitely - our camp makes a Costco run for food and drink the Friday before the gates open.

Three new flavors of shisha acquired -
vanilla
cinnamon
rose

Car insurance and registration may pre-empt my purchasing the tent next week - we shal see... After a year of wrangling - I should be getting the title to the newest car I will have ever owned.. :P

While it is true that it a V8 SUV type, I:
a) did not purchase it
b) will increase my MPG from the current 12 that I am getting in my 6cyl. F-150 by about 75%. So I may be the first person to be able to say that upgrading my ride to an SUV is energy conscious....

Yeah - it's pushing it....

I just bought from a thrift store a .99 cent pair of sunglasses. They're rectangular, orange and very burn-y.

Word of advice: big 70's sunglasses work very well for goggles. You may blink a lot, but they're fashionable and breathe well.

Just a suggestion: wear a scarf to cover your mouth and the sides of your glasses. I have been out there 11 years and that's all I've ever needed.

If you work for me, you get a scarf with Pooping Man on it. Very cool schwag, and very high cool value.

I'll be in my blanket fort until further notice.

Bad part is trying to find a trailer large enough to haul the garage.

Exactly - and it all started with wanting to use a tent instead of a motorhome to help be green

Went back to $1 store where I saw these huge plastic carrot Easter decorations last week......no more, I thought they might come in handy at the bunny march. Oh well, Ill keep an eye out for the mext week.

Picked up a coat pattern. Still shopping for a fabric I like and will hit some more fabric stores tomorrow.

Dug Mom's old sewing machine out of the attic. A nice 1960's machine that still works like new.

Downloaded the manual for it to learn how to use all the bells and whistles. Had a good laugh when I learned on page 3 that Singer has "Everything for the woman who sews". I guess I'll have to go in drag if I need to shop there.

Took the bike rack over to the trailer shop so they could weld it on before the powder coat goes on. Yeah!

I just bought the shade shelter.
My canvas modular apartment is now complete.
That was expensive. I may have to lay down for a while.

Ordered my ticket today. Yeah, I'm a slacker, but I wasn't sure if I'd make it this year, so now it's officially on. 8)

They do black as a part of the basic cost. I've never seen another color on their lot, but we didn't ask. Larry is supposed to get some DOT tape to make it visible.

Just scored a amy green Jerry can. $5 at a moving sale.. With fuel in it no less.. They sell new for around $75-$100.. The new ones are not built as good as the army's.. I have discovered the plastic gas cans weaken from the fuel movment.. So far I've only lost a water can to this.. But gave away all the plastic gas cans.. Most Craig's List jerry cans are going for $50+

Also bought my ticket for Element 11, the Utah regional burn.

bidding on one of these on ebay. just a simple gps compass. you can set 3 waypoints and it will direct you back to them with distance and direction as the crow flies.

to find a car in a parking lot. a tent in a campground. not necessarily for burning man, but that doesn't mean I won't try it out there. I have had the experience at night being unable to see the street signs, thinking I was going towards a street when I had actually passed it and was headed away from it. In the outer rings it takes a while to get to the next street sign to find this out. I must be the only one this has ever happened to. ;)

Went to the regional burn, FurrBall, last night and got motivated for making this year's outfits. Found a Jo-Ann's coupon in the paper today for my new tutu.

I like the idea about getting billion bunny march supplies this week. I'm on it!

I went to Dollar Tree today and WOW, everything was a dollar!

Here's what I found there:

High wind tent stakes that screw into the ground---for a buck!
A fully stocked section of glow in the dark necklaces and various other shit.
Bike locks--not the best, but would work great in BRC---for a buck!

Of course the store had more than the above 3 items, but these were the ones that jumped out at me. :D

I hate it when I get jumped by the merchandise at the dollar tree. It makes me feel so cheap. Please, don't tell me to avoid dark alleys, that's what everyone says...

note to self: do not bid on one item on ebay, get impatient and "buy one now." Sure you think your bid will get blown by based on the activity you are seeing. Well, my sister will like her birthday present which she has expressed absolutely no interest in... she just doesn't know how much she wants a GPS backtracker. or something like that. it was the tax refund talking to me
