Post by mars » Sun Apr 17, 2011 9:11 pm

Anyone having problems filling out the placement questionnaire? I can't seem to get it to "save". Anyone have any tips for me?

Are you logged in? I know,,,, had to ask tho'. It could possibly be your browser? By saying you cannot save it, if you log off and back on, the application is blank? Looking into this further,,,,, BRB

The site is not responding right now, so maybe it is something on their end.

Did you submit a layout plan with you questionnaire? That was something that changed this year. Before, you emailed the layout plan attachment. Now, it is integrated into the questionnaire submission.

Thank you for responding...it has been sooooo frustrating, but i think i finally got it off tonight...the trick was to do it all in one sitting and not try to save it. When I tried to save it, it was blank then next time I opened it. Fortunately, I had written down all my responses after the first time, and after the second time it happened, I copied everything into a word doc, so on my THIRD time doing the whole thing over, I just had to copy and past my longer answers.

Yes, I did attach the layout plan...I really did not like this new system...thought the old one worked just fine...but anyway, i finally got it done...and am curious about other peoples' experience with it.

I did mine all in one sitting, so maybe that is the key. I experienced no problems whatsoever.

Deep into the app, like 30 or 40 pages there is a "save" feature. I saw that after my third time. I too just ended up finishing it in one session. The application needs a little work.

(At least we can rest assured that a high-profile guy like Dustdevil still has to go through the process.)

Let me just warn people...do not wait until the last minute to do this thing! It basically took me three weeks to get it done. Phew!

Just make sure you have a copy of your previous info or what info you will need before even starting it!
It took us around 3 hours. Lots of stuff this year!

Good advise Pinemom. I kept a copy of last years application info and modified it for this year as needed.

Got mine in last night. Would like to report that it did save the info I started putting in a few days back and picked up right where I left off. Worked very smoothly actually. Yay, Placement Committee!!

and yes that is brown nosing just a bit ;-)

Posted a question in the thread 'How to Start a Theme Camp' that probably would have been better posted here.
So please forgive me for cross posting!
illy dilly wrote:I have a quick question about up loading the Leave No Trace plan.
So we have all our Questionnaire done and ready to submit. The Leave No Trace plan was the last thing we had to do. Now that it is done, we realize that we can't find the spot to up load it into the questionnaire.

We were able to load the camp layout plan, in the camp layout section, but have been unable to find a spot to load the LNT plan.

I'm sure its there and I'm just over looking it or something- but we've been looking since yesterday and still can't find where to load it.

Did any one else have this issue? And if not could some one please steer us in the right direction?
And we do realize that we really should have started on this a lot sooner. Procrastination should be a curable disease!

The LNT section appeared to me to be totally changed from having to write your own section to agreeing to LNT as per the application. Unless I missed something. In which case I'm screwed........... :?

Actually it might have been 46 or 50 pages. This includes all the "required reading" for fire in camp etc.

HandJamMasterC, Pinemom, thank you so much for responding! We were really starting to feel like a bunch of idiots for not finding the upload.

Thank you guys very much for helping calm our nervs. We were really starting to freak out, that our first year trying to be a theme camp we would screw up a major part of it.

If we don't need to upload our LNT plan, then we are ready to submit!
BUT since we have time might as well give it 1 or 2 or 87 rereads just to make sure its all good!

BTW, the "save" feature is at the TOP of the page now, in big boldness, not down on the left in little box.
When I did the app it was right there on the second page, and yes it saved it (the first page's info, that is) when I returned to see if it worked.

Results may vary.
