My First Burn

Post by ShytDix » Wed Apr 20, 2011 1:37 am

It's my first burn and also all of my friend's first. There is a group of about 6 of us going. I'm in charge of getting it all together, so wish me luck haha.

I can't wait to make some awesome memories with all of you!!!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

It's not the distance so much as being willing to lead half a dozen virgins when you yourself are the same. (Although it might be easier, in a way. Veterans of the event feel a certain solemn charge to deliver an amazing time that you, as a virgin, are more free to ignore.) :D

Even if you're the leader, make sure every single one feels personally responsible for themselves--radical self-reliance is a core principle--& that each of them reads the Survival Guide, particularly after the new annual one is posted:

And show your tickets to each other before you leave. :)

Instill in each and every person in your group - everyone goes to Burning Man alone.

Personally, I go to Burning Man to be alone with 50,000 people.

Really, everyone must take care of themselves up there. There is no other way. As leader, abdicate now.
