Hi Lana. From Reno, eh? Why, that's practically cheating.
You will be given a What/When/Where Guide to the events (a little book and a map) at the Greeter's Station, just past the Gate (where they take your tickets & check your vehicle). A lot of registered theme camps post events in it. You can search by "one time events" (which have a little urgency, 'cause if you miss it--darn) or "repeating events", which you might have a little more time to chase down.
Note: camps and events are sometimes a little difficult to find, or, an event gets canceled, or starts an hour late (it's called "playa time"), or you set out for the giant game of Duck, Duck, Goose but get distracted by an absinthe-tasting party and never do make it where you were going (which is normal).
ETA: Although one great thing about checking out theme camps online before you go is having a couple of theme-specific costumes or items to wear to their events.
