1st OHIO TO BURN...RIDER WANTED

Post by nosambos » Wed Apr 27, 2011 7:17 am

With the TSA bull going down, I'm not flying anywhere. As a people watcher who never has enough time to play, the Burn seems like a great thing to do this year. Maybe I'll make it a regular event. I used Mapquest to look at the route, good grief, it's 36 hours of driving. So I'm looking for a rider, from the Cleveland area, or to be picked up early along the route, to share driving. I'm not that concerned about gas expenses but I do want my own hotel room. I'm also okay with campsites if money is a problem. Non smoking and en route sobriety required. I'm a mid fifties, female professional.

Might share my camp if the right person materializes. I've signed up with the Alternative Energy people.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

There w/b a Rideshare link on this list under Share Resources coming online about the end of May/early June...good place to hook up w/ riders.

Also recommend getting involved with your local regional Burners...that way you get face-to-face with potential riders.
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.

Hihi! As shocking as this might sound, Ohio has burners in it.

You should join all of the Ohio regional contact lists. A dude named, Everyman, takes care of northern Ohio, but in reality it's just Cleveland. Shoot a email onto the list and maybe you'll get a local bite.

If you want to pick-up/meet-up someone close-ish on the way, your best bet is with the extremely active Detroit group. So it might be worth while for you to join it's google group, and official contact list. Although if you want to hook up with a buckeye, the Toledo contingent is lurking around, somewhere. Alternately an active group in Cincinnati could also be something to look into.

Anyway, as dragonpilot pointed out above, you could always post to http://rideshare.burningman.com when it's updated for this year.
