leaving from MI, fellow rider wanted!

Post by mommaratkins » Sat Apr 30, 2011 9:55 am

Hi, my name is Luci and I am a BM virgin! I have made it my goal to attend once I've graduated with my associates degree but none of my friends can make it! I am planning on traveling alone and couchsurfing along the way, but a companion would make the trip nicer (hopefully) I am easy to get along with but please no cigarette smoking. I will be leaving from michigan in the middle of August. join me along the journey!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Do you have a car that's ready for the road trip? Does your car have enough room for two people, two tents, two bicycles, two shade structures, coolers, costumes, food?
These are pertinent questions, and it's good for you to think about that stuff now.

Welcome from Michigan as well Luci. Familiar with our regional burn Lakes of Fire? You should consider checking it out as we throw a rather nice party
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

That's right, LoF is coming up.. *shrugs* ..you could go to it. You could also post to the MI google group here. Lastly in this same thread is another virgin from Cleveland offering/looking for a ride-share.

You can have a good time alone. You're not likely to be alone for long.

I was planning on coming alone when I joined up at this board last fall... and now I have a jillion friends in BRC and too many things on my must-do list. Listen to Fishy. You will truly not be alone once you start to participate.

Hey momma

What part of Michigan are you in? There's a lot of us squirreled away in the D, as well as A2, K'Zoo, GR and Lansing.

LoF would be a great way to meet a lot of the gang as well as our cohorts from Chi-town and the land of Cheese.

Start making your Mitt and Fish sign for the big burn. There should be a list on the google group that C187 sent you where everybody can post where they will be camping and the sign is a way to let fellow Michiganders know that a camp belongs to somebody from home. I for example camp in Kidsville, and you'll find a lot of the others around Gigsville, and Terminal City, Apokoliptika and the Boobie Bar for exp.
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Yep, you can park where you camp, unless you camp out in the boonies at "Walk-In Camping" (which is what it sounds like--leaving your car at a designated spot and hiking your stuff in however many hundred yards). Walk-In Camping is not for you if you want immediate neighbors, and I would recommend that you have some because it sounds like you'd prefer it.

Most people put their vehicle between themselves and Center Camp as a windblock, because the wind tends to blow from the SW.
