I like to break my eggs into ziplock bags, 2 each, with chopped onions, tomatoes, cheese, salt, pepper, bacon bits, whatever.... store them in the cooler when camping and when I want an omelet in the morning I just have to boil water and toss a bag in for 10 minutes. Have to use durable bags though, like ziplock freezer bags.

You eat it boiled right out of the bag without putting it on a skillet?

It looks messy. Are you eating it at an outdoor cafe where you are allowed to smoke?

I suppose you could eat right out of the bag but I like to dump it on a plate. No skillet involved, that the point of prepping them ahead of time to avoid the mess and bother of making omelets while camping. And smoking is always allowed in my camp!

A couple of years ago my son showed me the joy of watching an unshelled raw egg explode in the microwave...pretty funny, except for the mess=not so funny

A prime argument for having a spare microwave (tucked out in the shed) for experimentations.

As a truck driver I see my fair amount of roadkill, and I cross my fingers when squirrels and rabbits and what not come out of the underbrush and cross the path of my truck's tires(I never swerve).

Well, just a couple of weeks ago a squirrel being chased by a rabbit came out of the brush onto I-80 in front of me, did a U-turn together, and then ran to the edge of the road where the rabbit finally caught the squirrel and commenced to kicking it's ass.

I still can't figure out if the squirrel pissed off the rabbit, or if the rabbit was just really hungry...please help.

Define "kicking its ass"

Judging by the size of some of the squirrels I have around here this year, they might be cross-breeding.

...I'd put it down to steroids up until this post of yours... now I'm rethinking Everything!!!

bar of ivory soap. not really explosive, but it's been a while since I"ve seen this, so I cannot swear to the cleanliness of it. 99.9% pure.

Nuke the soap???

In water, or dry?

Just so happens Ivory Soap was a freebie at our grocery store a while back and I have oodles of it available.

Tell me what you want me to do with it and I shall report back pronto!

Of COURSE with pictures.

Without them it didn't happen, right????

Tho I just went and checked, and the soap is not Ivory, but rather DIAL. For sensitive skin.

It's not an omelette without a sharp cheese.

I've cooked scrambled eggs in a paper cup.
Works just fine.

You don't want to cook anything too quickly.

yeah, just nuke it. simply put it dry on a plate in the middle. minute and Half? it grows and bubbles as I recall. kind of like the "snakes" pellets we used to light on the fourth of July.

Ok. That was freaking AWESOME!!!

I tried to film it, and then took a picture of the result. Not too sure now how to share the movie.......... this could take a while

The result, tho, is a huge mass in the middle of the plate that's very much like meringue..... which could be interesting in the bath!!!

AND.......... the resultant meringue breaks up on contact to a powder finer than talc..........

What to do with it now.

I was thinking I could put some in some boiling water and use the result to refill my soap dispensers.

(and I didn't even NEED the goggles really.)

Thanks, El! I'm enjoying this!

Just a little update.

That WAS Ivory. I finally found 3 bars in the back of one of my cupboards.

Next, I had to try the Dove.

Word: Do NOT try this with Dove. It's unimpressive and the smell is freaking overpowering!

It just kind of formed a hole and oozed out all over the plate. My house now has such an overpowering perfume smell that I've had to open up all the windows.

Blech!!!!

Ivory:

Image
(2/3 of the bar is still intact in there. I panicked and shut it off before the minute.5 was done. I WILL be doing this again, tho!)

Dove:

Image
(and that was the full damage at 1.5 minutes. I was all kinds of blasé by then)

And now you'll excuse me.... but this smell is really making me want to vomit.

Do NOT try Dove!!!

Not so much mad as merely sick to my stomach.

I should mention that the video didn't work out at all. After talking myself out of placing the camer IN the microwave during the process (Yes. Talked myself out of it!!!), I shot thru the glass... but there was so much reflection that you can't really see whats going on in there.

The result is more that you're looking at my terrified reflection.

Or rather, the reflection of my terrified pelvic area. (For those of you who can recognize such things)

Since I was fully clothed in it, I didn't think would be of much interest to anyone in here.....

You can make a microwave operate with the door open.

Be interesting to see the camera operate inside though.
Might be lively.

Though I don't think I would endorse either suggestion.

Just going to thank you straight out for "having my back" there, JK, as I seem particularly susceptible to suggestions today.

And tho I have an old camera I'd gladly forfeit to the cause, my microwave is new enough that I think I'll wait till we get a shed-model.

Mmmmmmmmmm. Soapy-smelling popcorn. Anyone???

My microwave once started only operating when the door was open.

I was told it wasn't that dangerous if I didn't hang about.
