I don't really give a shit that he died. That's not my problem by any means. Dancing in the streets because anyone is dead is plain and simple fucked up though.

Didn't they tip us off?Mojojita wrote:Let's see what Pakistan has to say about why he went "undetected" in the midst of an area populated by military and retired military.
This insta-news means that all sorts of rumors are reported.

No, they didn't. This was all U.S. Intelligence and we didn't tell them we were coming. Primarily because there have been instances in the past when we did and when we went in, the targets had mysteriously been tipped off and disappeared.theCryptofishist wrote:Didn't they tip us off?Mojojita wrote:Let's see what Pakistan has to say about why he went "undetected" in the midst of an area populated by military and retired military.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Insert Oxycontin joke here.
Yeah, I have to mark the occasion with a feeble joke.
Never thought I'd see that.

Me either. Though years ago when I was a staunch Republican,i used to listen to him all the time, and he was actually pretty fair and balanced, though a staunch conservative. I'm not quite sure what pushed him out onto the fringes, though I'd assume it was money.theCryptofishist wrote:That's positively surreal.jkisha wrote:Rush Limbaugh: "Thank God for President Obama."

Then I suppose starting a war with a nation that has the ability to project their fighting force into any country on the planet was probably not the best choice he ever made for living a long and carefree life.Isotopia wrote:That may have been the case but the point is a moot one seeing as how the opportunity to surrender was never an option.Apparently he was unwilling to surrender, and as a result he died on the field.
If you don't believe he was responsible for 9/11 he was responsible for the bomb in the WTC basement in 1993. Attempted an assassination of Clinton in 1996. Successfully bombed a U.S. embassy in 1998. And in 2000 bombed the USS Cole. He started the war.neon tetra wrote:Right.1durphul wrote:Osama bin Laden died in a war in which he fired the first shot.

By your logic any private citizen who doesn't like what another country does has the right to start bombing civilian targets belonging to the country he doesn't like. That is ridiculous.neon tetra wrote:So you're saying the U.S. never did anything fucked up in the middle east prior to these events?
There is no beginning, there is no end. The only way out is to stop playing the game.
Al Qaeda, and Osama bin Laden's primary purpose was to get the United States presence out of Saudi Arabia. A presence that the Saudi government allows/invites since we have provided them with massive technological, military, and infrastructure improvements since the 1950s.

Ode to Osama Bin Laden
(sung to the tune of Ding Dong the Witch is Dead, from the Wizard of Oz)
Ding dong the dick is dead
Which old dick?
The wicked dick!
Ding dong the wicked dick is dead!
One night the Seals came by,
Shot his ass right in the eye.
Ding dong the wicked dick is dead!
He's gone were the fishes swim,
below, below, below yo ho,
And he's so rotten that
The sharks won't eat him.
Stand up and cheer this day
The mother fucker's gone away!
Thanks Obama, I love the USA!!

Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Definitely interesting. So is he saying that bin Ladin was betrayed by the Pakistanis? In which case that would imply that Obama went in on intel from Pakistan and created the cover story that they went in without permission to somehow give credibility to the Pakistani government with its people? Hmmm.theCryptofishist wrote:Robert Fisk, of the Independent. Much more interesting than the other stuff I've read.
