A Rattle of the Ol' Tin Cup

Post by oneeyeddick » Tue May 03, 2011 12:02 am

It sure seems like there are an exponential amount of camps and projects and artcars and such looking for extra funding to go on top of the funding that they already got from whereever they got thier funding from, and it still doesn't seem like the do-it-yourselfers are asking for anything, still.

IMO Kickstarter has made a monster within our "community" by making it just too damn easy to beg.

Got any spare change buddy?

I agree, but nobody has to donate.

I don't have any problems with art installations, but I don't so much care for camp enhancements like art cars for example. It just seems to me there is more benefit from such projects to the owner than to the community.

You mean that people can create playa art without an honorarium or selling the extra Porsche? How gauche!

Just a bump because this topic it taking hold on another thread.

Just wondering if there is some way to see how much total donations go to ALL of the kickstarter projects this year after it is all said and done, and also how much was donated last year total?

Greetings, friends, acquaintances and ne'er do wells,
I am engaging you to make a shameless plug; shameless because it is an extension of what I have been doing on the playa since 1999.

I fully support the above Kickstarter, it's fully engaging and quite entertaining for everyone.
