Greeting Wanderers
Love from the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I've been hanging out on the outskirts of life for the last 18+ months, in that I'm a new mama, full time, and loving every bit. My son is everything and it is time to jump back in full-power.
Before this new journey of mine I traveled here and there throughout the states, wandering but not lost, barely "enough" to get me by but meeting people was all it took. Meeting through love, creativity, music, the wave which I was riding, and ever growing, every moment, every day. I've got friends in different parts of the world which have participated in the Burner community for long, and have taught me much just being in their presence.
I've wanted to go to Burning Man for years now, but have never manifested it. Knowing what I know, and what I've known, in between tuning in and out of the purest frequen-see, I can experience Burning Man this year. I watched last years burn via live stream and felt utter and complete bliss throughout, and here I am, back again full circle. Let's do this.
My mind wants to keep telling me "less than four months, it's not much time..." and again, knowing what I know, anything is possible. I've been there in that moment where everything happened as I saw it, I was there and I made that moment. I've been browsing this site and other means of learning what is and how to's of BM for years, this year more frequently, and I feel ready to pop out of this hole I've dug myself.
I'd love to participate any way that I can, without getting too far ahead of myself. I understand the challenges that come with the journey. I've got a few local friends that haver been talking and got me fired up... so here we come. Any meetups that could get me going in a good direction that are in the DC/VA/MD area, let me know. I'll contact the necessary people, I'll do what I need to do. Help me get there <3
So much love to those who inspire to express themselves at their highest frequency. Love to all of you, thanks for giving me the time to introduce myself.

Welcome Gen ov eve!
I clicked on "Regionals" from the top of the main Burning Man website, then on the U.S., then on the DC/Maryland area to find the following link to Maryland/DC regional contacts. (There might be more on Google.) The 2 links within might have good folks for you to network with.

Thank you, thank you all.
I've sent an email to one of the dc burners via regioanl links, looking forward to a response. Meanwhile, I've read over and over the Survival guide from 2010, have been frequently browsing the net when a question comes to mind, finding answers easily.
A friend here has mentioned traveling with a group that we may form in his RV. Whether I get there in an RV or fly there and meet up with friends from some part of the world, I plan to camp. While these friends here are only talking about it, I am looking into all of my options of getting there and back. This is something I really wish to experience this year.
I feel warm and cozy with such a kind welcome, thank you all, and looking forawrd to going Home and meeting you lovelies. Big Love.

Kickass. While you'll want to keep any eventual commitments you make if at all possible, there can be a lot of upheaval in just a few months. Last year I literally had a Plan A (Rideshare) Plan B (Train + Rental) Plan C (Drive Whole Way) and Plan D (Reno Flight + Rental). I must admit, part of me just likes making contingency plans. While these friends here are only talking about it, I am looking into all of my options of getting there and back.
Mental flexibility is the number one thing (within your control) that can help you get to a burn. And the habit will serve you well out on the playa, too.
