Tazz, wear your tutu and dance with wild abandon. Burning Man is the perfect place for this....
I second this.

"Some things just are not right!!!"

Such as having the opinion that age, gender, body size, race, etc. somehow dictate where and how many yards of a particular fabric can be worn?

That ain't right.

Sadly, in what was my first Playa trip last year I had a lot more "wish I had done it" moments than "glad I did it" moments. Part of it was being there for only half the week, part was shyness, part was me not asserting more independence more frequently.

Things I hesitated but was glad I did:

1) Dancing - Yep, same as some others, I have no rhythm and rarely dance in front of people anywhere. But at BM, I found myself dancing a lot, and that has carried into Defaultia.

Things I wish I had done (or done more of) that I WILL do this year:

1) Talk to people! I went on solo adventures and group ones last year, but in both cases I rarely talked to strangers. That must change.

2) Adventure more during the day. I made the mistake of not being generous with the sunblock on the first day, and the rest of the time had to be cautious with sun exposure. Lesson learned.

3) Volunteer - I'm a big volunteer at regionals, but didn't volunteer at BM. I made it to Lamplighters only once, and they ended up not needing walk-ins, and I never made it back.

I actually did head over to TC looking for you, but you were already out adventuring. This year, being out there the full time, I will definitely find you and have the best adventure!

Sweet!! 8)

@Age, I'm the same way. That's why I enjoyed Greeters so much. While I do get tired of all the joy and joyness and wayyy too much hugging it gave me the perfect opportunity to talk to lots of people and not feel awkward.

Plus you don't HAVE to be over the top fake sweetness and light. You can just be yourself...mostly. Ok, *I* could just be myself. YMMV.

C.f.M, thanks for the slap up side the head!!

I reread my post and realized it did not come across the way I intended(''). I was only expressing my own anxiety with trying to step outside of my defaultia persona. I love the freedom shown by all sizes, genders, ages, etc. at BRC.

at the regional < alchemy > i went to we showed up at maybe 3am and i snuck past this big ol' dude in a kilt who was spanking people..... started walking away and then thought better of it..... went back and got what was coming to me.... funny how that one little act started a change in me ( for the good ) ... went from having a small case of the " too cool for school " to hanging off a pirate ship like " what's next? "
