Many years ago I decided that I wanted a job that would pay a good salary and be fun to go to every day. I liked working on Mustangs so I opened a Mustang repair, restoration and parts shop. That was a little over 35 years ago. I am still working, still having fun and still making a decent salary. Near the end of August we just close the doors for three weeks. All of my employees, with one exception attend BM and work on the Fire Art Safety Team....

The job I have is actually better than I ever dreamed I could possibly have. So I certainly cannot complain.

Having said that, I formerly posted that I would love to do Retrofrolic 24/7. Well,,,, we have a place coming up for rent next door and we are hoping to open something like Retrofrolic in it. Hopefully, it will at least pay for itself and possibly help fund the camp. We won't have the lease until July and will need to do some SOUNDPROOFING and REDECORATING; therefore, we won't have it actually up and running until after BM2011. Trish and I are pretty excited about it!

But I could tell you a few fables about getting dream jobs.
If you're good, it always becomes a job.
Maybe not drudgery, but it can ruin your enjoyment of something special.
What is a dream, may not be a dream job at all.

When I visited a company I'm interested in working for, one of my goals is to destroy my fantasy of what it will be like, working in this capitalists paradise.
I approached the visit as a job.
I specifically looked for the flaws and the people that are unhappy there, and I found them.
Still interested.

Besides my experiences, I've known many people that have chased and sometimes caught their dream job.
Even rock goddess.

Choose carefully.
