40 foot is not the same price as 20 foot. I think the higher foot the higher price it is.

Ten yrs ago I made a cusom shorty container by cutting the firrst eight feet on the door end and two on the dead end. I did have a plasma cutter and TIG welder at the tiimez. A job shop may be able to do it or check for a coop hackerspace org that mmay have em. It was easily loaded with a forklift. Mebbe you could talk a DPW crane into offloading?
BTW you would be amazed what a metal cutting blade in a skilsaw can do...
