TETRIS STAGE BURNING MAN 2011

Aloha fellow burners.

This year the Tetris camp will have big stage right on the playa
with lots of room for interesting acts, poles for dancers and
a great LED light show, all topped off with 2 giant wings on
either side of the stage.

We have lots of amazing things planned already with great DJ's
and Visual's on our huge screen.

If you have something truly amazing, freaky fun or mind blowing stuff to share/perform, post some info or video for us to consider, we still have some open spots.

We would need to know what the act is and what technical
requirements, within reason, are needed.

Do you know what all the tunes were? of course I had the old black and white SEII version.
I aspire to have a tape of all those songs as sung by Red Army Choir. Except for the that piece from the Nutcracker.

amongst other things that is happening on our stage...
you can play tetris (even in player vs player mode) with KINNECT technology on our main stage (screen size would be around 32feet high)

so im sure we will have the tetris theme song playing in the background whilst you play. Anybody keen on playing tetris on a massive screen at the tetris stage? by the way did I mention that the our stage looks like it will be lit up like tetris blocks? haha were all about it...

BACK TO TOPIC. Anybody got crazy acts they wish to contribute?

so to answer your question... YES the theme song will be blasting out the PA while you play tetris against your friend on a giant screen :)

But I had multiple theme songs. Moscow Nights, the piece from the Nutcracker, Volga Boatmen, maybe Kalinka, maybe Katiusha, it's hard to think that they didn't do Dark Eyes...

I would be interested in performing. I go by The Filthy One, I'm a dj/producer. Been playing for 10+ years, and this will be my 7th year at Burning Man. I play all forms of EDM. Electro, Tech House, Breaks, Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Drumstep, Hip Hop. I ran Camp Ellipsis in 2008, I also helped build and performed for the Opulent Temples art car in 2009. Both loaded with 80,000 watts of sound. My girlfriend (seen in the pictures below) also plays and is a amazing hooper.

I'm currently helping and performing for for Osiris.

Hello Tetris stage!

I just joined so i cant send ya a p.m. hope its cool to just post here?

This year will be my very first burn and i am determined to make every moment count!

I am based in Dublin, Ireland and I front the electro rock group Skuzzi port, http://www.skuzziport.com , https://www.facebook.com/pages/Skuzzi-Port/35284965066

This solo show i am bringing to burning man this year and i would love to have the chance to play for you if these sounds are something that please your ear sensors?

For my electro show i use a laptop, soundcard, korg kaoss pad3 and midi controller which i use to mash up and mangle all my own productions while singing and sampling my own voice over the top.

I make mostly electro house heavy bass kind of stuff but it does vary into breaks and grime too.

It is a very live oriented performance and i really like to take things apart and mess around so its a bit mental and more of a show.

I have done this show with other players involved such as rappers and drummers and i am really open to jamming with other people if there is heads willing to get involved.

So if you might like me to play for you please let me know, i would absolutely love it! (im bringing everything just need stereo mixer input or 2 d.i's)

I cant wait for the burn and i really hope to hear from ya!

We would love to play on the Tetris Stage this year!

Our band name: "LoVRBoMZ"
We are a three-piece acoustic band using one guitar, one stand-up bass and small trap kit.
All three of us sing.
The band is fronted by the gorgeous Leslie Knauer, a platinum-selling artist with 10 albums to her name (5 albums on major labels! LOTS of stuff on youtube).
This new band's music is a lot like Neil Young meets Janis Joplin.
We hope this is enough info...

Hey Jody ~ I remember the Tetris Stage rockin it last year. I'm glad you're into hosting live acts too! My psychedelic omni-rock quartet, Wubakia, is hauling all our gear out to the Playa this year from Santa Cruz, and we are looking for a couple more solid opportunities to play, kinda last-minute. We are currently playing 2 sets at our camp, Mountain Mayhem, and one at the Transmorphogon, but we really want to land 2 more good ones. Is the Tetris stage booked up at this point, or could you still fit a super solid psychedelic quartet of uncommon radness into your tetrissy schedule/itinerary? Because of the delicate nature of our nice analog gear (especially the hammond organ and leslie), we kinda need a space that is somewhat shielded from dustclouds (nighttime seems to be calmer in general), and hopefully a generator that can put out a steady 60 hertz (for the organ) and 2 monitors (we will have 2 as well). If you're into it, and/or you think that you could benefit from the use of our gear or sound-related skills, let us know so we can start to work out more details. We're looking forward to seeing your mega stage out there again this year and meeting you! Hope to hear from you soon.

I played Tetris on the playa two years ago, somewhere around 7oclock I think. Not sure if that was you guys, but maybe. Either way I was horrible and i've been practicing my block dropping skills for 2011 redemption. Just thought i'd share.
