Willing to stay after to help dismantle?

Post by Gusthefuss » Tue May 24, 2011 2:07 pm

Seems like alot of people want to get in early and need a pass for that. I was wondering if there was a pass required to stay late and help clean up and take down camps? I really don't want to be part of the mass exodus. I don't think my car would handle it all that well.

At some point, someone will check to see what you're doing, if you're still on the playa.
If you are doing something useful somewhere, you shouldn't have an issue.

If you are working for an llc department, you definitely won't have a problem.

There always seems to be a shortage of people for breakdown.

Agreed. People willing to stay an extra day or two to help tear down are always welcome. :)

WE in Gate are always really short handed helping with Exodus. Volunteering even a couple of days would make the world of difference. We'll even feed you!

If interested, hit me up.

You stay another day or two and experience the second burning, and the manifestations of understanding that ensue

If you don't have a solid reason (by the llc's or blm's definition of solid reason, not yours) you will be strongly encouraged to leave on Wednesday.

I'm hoping to stay until at least Tuesday and if the Lord smiles upon me and I can, I'd stay even later to help at gate. Maybe keep the hippie crap of BMIR for Exodus.

Though, the pool party at the Sierra is bitchin'.

I urge people to volunteer for Exodus. They help make the crappy exit somewhat less crappy, and volunteers working at Exodus avoid it.

http://www.burningman.com/participate/volunteer.html

Exodus sucks, and I whined about it for a couple of years, but I figured I'd do more good working the Exodus than whining, so Louise and I have volunteered for the last several years. I don't know whether we've done any good, but we've avoided Exodus, so I'm happy.
