If you have anything left over, dump it in.
Okay, here's your Mojo story.
Olongapo is a city in the Philippines which was just outside the gates of Subic Bay Naval Base, one of the largest US Navy bases (now closed).
So we sailors would walk down the streets of Olongapo, on liberty, perusing the endless parade of massage parlors and nightclubs and bars - probably the largest redlight district in the history of mankind. At least one bar would sell Mojo - only in a pitcher; you could rarely order it as a single glass. It was cool and sweet, and they invariably served it at low tables to the youngest sailors out of boot camp, often younger than 21.
Now when these young sailors woke up, they would often be delighted to know that they still had enough cab fare in their pockets to get back to the ship.
Try it, you might like it.

Hahaha, yeah, I had my bottle in a outside pocket on my camelbak and kept having it leak all over me. I was like wtf? this thing sucks! Then I thought about it a little and was like "oooh yeah!"Bexx wrote:AHAHAHA!!! I did this last year!! LOL, But remember where you hid it!robbidobbs wrote:BEER! And lots of it. Bring an extra case hidden away for the last day.
We weren't sure if we already drank the last 18 case earlier in the week, or if it got ripped off.
Sure enough we get back to Denver start cleaning the RV, and what do ya know, there is an 18 pack in the oven! Hidden away for storage space.
LOL, we thought for sure we drank it so fast we forgot!
Why don't ya stick your head in that hole and find out? ~piehole

Damn, Bexx, that's a sin. Letting good gin go unenjoyed is a terrible thing indeed.Bexx wrote:nice - those all sound yummy! - we do bloody marys - and we make up a big tub of a fruity drink with vodka.. it's basically a fuckton of fruit and a whole bottle of vodka and ice.
Last year I think mid week we had run out of mixers to use @ the bar so we were just doing shots. We set up a Sobriety Check Point. If you road past and could pass for sober - you needed to come have a shot. It worked real well - and we made a ton of friends. - That was such an awesome day.
as for the question of how much to bring - LOTS at least more than you might think you will need. Certain boozes that mix well with everything go faster than most. I know we still had a whole big bottle of Gin left. - but like the pirates that we are - ALL the fucking RUM was gone by Sat. ( I think we had a secret stash though)
SO I know at least for us - stocking up on RUM and VODKA will be key. I think an extra bottle of Baileys will work too. And thank the gods that KRAKEN rum now comes in a big ass bottle. We had the small one and it was gone in a day I think.
I'll be hauling homemade tonic water for civilized drinks in case of a sudden outbreak of playa malaria this year, and likely a few gallons of apple pie to take the chill off the cold nights.

The Detente... (as made famous by the Kantina Apokiliptika) ...
1 part Makers Mark bourbon. Available, hell, you know where.
4 parts Kvass. Russian soda pop, slightly alcoholic (like 0.5%) find at international or Russian grocery stores or on line. Best for this is called "Kvas Monastery", tho others will work as well. Comes in 2 liter soda bottles, and is all of like $3.00...
It is EXTREMELY drinkable... guaranteed to quench the thirst on those long, hot playa afternoons... and to put a detente in your skull!

oh it got enjoyed actually when we hit Reno for the night when we left!! I think it was because we didn't have good mixers for it - if I remember correctly. ALTHO I was reminded this weekend by campmates that we did warm gin shots @ the bar.wraith wrote:

There was a small camp just down the road from us last year that I passed every morning on the way to the jots that served the best bloody marys I have ever had. They were made with pickle juice. I'd love to get that recipe. I did some google searches, but couldn't come up with one that tasted quite the same. But that might be because the playa has a way of making some things taste better.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

My favorite was Camp Remember's 'Playa Punch' -- when we took a rolling cooler, added a little of everything we had on hand, and rolled it over towards Distrikt, handing out some of our already delicious concoction with fellow burners one beautiful clear day.
Others partook and added something to the batch. One added a whole box of wine. Another added Aftershock. Still another contributed a plethora of rainbow-colored otter pops.
The end result was the most delicious, lightly pink beverage that pleased not only every Burner we met but the whole lot of us!
Ours was the best 'Crawling Bar' ever.

A note to newbies, bring extras. You will make friends fast when you donate them to your favorite Playa bar.

mmmmmmmm... oh wait... um... yeah from what I have heard that could be refreshingStickyChron wrote:Candyflip
A favorite from '08... equal parts Mt. Dew and Captain Morgan... camp mate called it happy "happy juice" and certainly did the trick.
From '09 habenero infused tequila and strawberry basil mojitos. The tequila was amzaing... first pain, then more pain, then endorphines followed by a mild alchohol hug. The Mojitos were simply refreshing.
This year will be all about Calimocho for me (equal parts red wine and cola... don't knock it till ya try it.)
Though I will have a couple bottles of pineapple ghost chile infused rum around for kicks and giggles.
