Ok, I took the clamp off. Now there's a big leak... Hafta keep the flamethrower pointed AWAY from tank...
FAST has enough problems without my ignorant ass. I'm not bringing that hose. I'm ordering take out from Mcmaster-Carr. God I love them. I just wish I had my old company credit card...
I think I'm going to leave the duplex @ home and use two normal hoses to a cross on the device. Otherwise I'd need two POL males and two POL females to valve it properly. F that. I need more propane.

Made an automatic firing circuit for the poUfer. It fires from once a second to 17 times per second (!).
Slow it sounds like a steam locomotive starting underway. Fast it sounds like a helicopter or machine gun.

The power comes in thru the gray cord to the relay where the timing circuit chops it up and sends it out to the white cord end to the button box. Every time the button is pressed the pulses are let thru to the solenoid valve.

The gizzies to the right are 10 turn pots that control the firing rate. The black lump on the left is a quad relay. Just need three more poUfers... Each can be controlled independently or synchronized.
Love to put this on a vehicle. Imagine 4 heads mounted like quad ma deuces on a ring turret. Probably already been done (multiple times...) but would still be kinda tasty.

A definite burner!!
found my auto recycle system electric(ARSE) DIN rail for FOGBANK.
don't know if ARSE interface will be ready for tomorrow's quarry party
HELGA asks "are we taking two cars?"

As long as your homeowner's insurance is paid up it should pay for the neighbors windows. I think

Bring any caliber you like. Better than 90% there's something here that eats it.
FOGBANK is coming? Oh goody!
Starting to think we won't have enough room in the pit. We can always use the front yard. Or back yard. Or log landing. Or skidder landing. Or the BLM land behind the hill.
Just BRING it, we'll make room.
I'm goin out to the electronics trailer to finish soldering the auto-fire into its own board. Should be pure solid state by 8 and online by 9.
Thursday Thursday Thursday! Propane burning madness! We'll sell you the whole seat but you'll only need the edge...

The Weiner story is more important than how Goldman Sachs ripped off its investors to the tune of billions, or how defense contractors rip off the US Tax Payer with trillions in unaccounted dollars or how bloated corporations use off shore tax shelters to rob the American people of tax revenue or how Massey and evil coal companies kill miners and the CEO's get off scott free?????Weiner is more important than that? Looking good Foxfur! You definitely HAVE to come to reno for compression just to see our toys in action. The computer control/program are the beez kneez, thanks to the awesome Oz. Sure is a blast to play pyrocussion.
I'm really gonna try. Gotta decide between gold mining and 4th o Juplaya / compression. Gold's up around $1500 (moan). F'ing money. Filthy stuff.
Saw a vid on youtube with 'code monkey' in the title. Had some guys running tabletop poofers with a laptop. Wondering what they use as an interface to the AC valves, etc.
I am VERY interested in seeing your toys! Your gear is amazing.

Gold mining too! damn we are going to have to get a room. Course reno's not too far from the mother load (Im actually near placerville at the moment)Foxfur wrote: I'm really gonna try. Relays, good ole relays is what we run.
"Art Is Not A Mirror, It Is A Hammer" - Jon Griersam
well it is more complicated than simply adding relays, there is a microprocessor that controls them which is hooked to the computer, its all custom built stuff. Ein Hammer was very similar. But the Shiva towers are more fun because you "play" them. I only know the AC comes out of the box hahaha.

Still just in the planning process but I plan to make a "Kinetic Sculpture" basically an over sized two seat (Side by side) recumbent bike. Hopefully I can find a couple bikes this weekend and get started.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

EspressoDude and Helga found their way up to our secluded mountain compound today. They brought FOGBANK and FOGLAMP and some other toys. A little bit of Terminal City up in the holler.

Man, it was no small job for them. Hours of loading and unloading, cleaning, repairs. He builds GREAT machines. Discussed adding twin 1/4" auto-fire poUfers on FOGBANK.
AND I bought mah ticket.

This gets a bit thick. If you're a non-techie, my apologies.
Spent yesterday afternoon working on a one-shot timer circuit for finely timed quick bursts. Finally realized I had it wrong when dry fire testing. The 555 based circuit gives a high pulse then drops to low. The quad SSR it controls has a positive common and needs a low to pulse it. Wfffft! It just blew it's accumulated load (with a millisecond 'pause' in the middle).
Frustrated but not beaten, dug out an HP pulse generator and set to work defining the threshhold at which the solenoid goes hysteretic and stutters.
The pulse genny allows precision tailoring of the pulse train. Able to set the period and pulsewidth into fractions of milliseconds. Finally was able to pinpoint resonant sweet spots for a range of sonic effects.
Period 63mS, pulsewidth 20mS, gaussian waveform gave the best rapid fire thumps. **I got it up to firing 25 shots per second!!**
Period 75mS, width 25-30mS with square waveform gives thunderous booms on single shot.
These data have narrowed the range of where it operates best. Using the figures obtained it gives me a target for the final circuit using discrete components. It should fit on a circuit board 2 inches square.
Thinking of programming a PIC or Zilog microcontroller to handle the timing using its internal timers. Programmable variable pulse trains. Could make it take up the bass notes to whatever tunes are playing at the bar(s) or program variable pulsetrains to pound out some jungle for Simon.
Thinking of incorporating a few geetar effects pedals into the mess. Variable speed Auto-fire controlled by the feet.
Also thinking of converting a nintendo light gun into the firing switch.
So many ways to go...
Still in beta. I dont wanna poke a mess of holes in the box cover until I know exactly how many firing buttons, mode switches, keyswitch, rate pots, and indicator lights I'm going to use.

Delightful, now you're digging deep into discovering the devil's dirty little details in determining the timing and dwell.
I suggest three gratuitous switches. A toggle switch with missile cover labeled "MASTER ARM" (have one on our assault tank) and two key switches separated by more than an arms length, labeled "ENGAGE". The key switches are crucial in enabling you to randomly scream "turn your key mutha fucker." This is especially effective if you are the only one there and you are screaming at yourself. The giant red fire button needs no labeling of course.
