Moore has been in his past writtings and productions...you can also look at Bush's record and any political figure on there and see a truely unbiased opinion....ah but those who embrace such a messiah can see no wrong in him no mattter what the truth says. I don't think he can be sued, because he has used his info from quotes from other sources and placed them into a documentary form. Therefore protected under the Bill of Rights "freedom of speech". That's a good point stuart! In fact, the president has no right of lawyer confidentuality which has gotten him into a bit of trouble with the Iraqi Tortured investigation. But, the family and their supporters can try to sue him, but I hear they are going after one of the sources used in the movies who's quotes have been taken from the authors book!

In a congressional hearing anyone especially the president and his lawyer can be question. Recently condo-leasesor Rice-cakes was guestion even though the White said that would violate the confidentuality of presidential advisor's rights. So too can his lawyer be ask to appear.

First, my bonafides, my father’s side of the family were Texicans before Austin showed up. I have a couple of great-greats that fought at San Jacinto, the family sat out the War of Northern Aggression since they opposed the moronic decision to join the Union in the first place. Now, to me, the statement ‘There is America and then there is Texas’ means “Y’all can go to hell, ‘cause we’ll do what we damn well please.” Now what it means to a damnyankee like DWB beats hell out of me.

(Note, the family supported the wrong side in the American Revolution and fled to Florida. By 1819 it was obvious that the US would take over Florida and they moved to Tejas. Austin didn't get busy until the 1820's.)

I heard a poulation expert once talking about overcrowding in the world. He said that he had supposedly worked this out mathmatically...anyways found it interesting.

This was 2 years ago. According to him, if you took the ENTIRE pouplation of the EARTH currently and divided it up into "family units" of 4 people each, you could put EVERYBODY in Texas and each 4 person unit would get one acre of land.

Whatever your opinion on politics on-playa, the fact remains that this is a year round forum. It’s a place where we share our lives and thoughts in that strange, truncated way of the internet. That includes politics, it includes parking tickets, it includes pink slips (if I don’t get off of this thing!) and many other facets which make up people’s lives. To act is if we shouldn’t discuss politics here because you don’t want it/don’t think it’s appropriate on playa is more or less bull…. Because it’s totally irrelevant. This forum may be here because of the playa, but it is a community forum, not a playa forum. Unless I’m wrong, and then we ought to wipe out ‘general discussion’ altogether.
