Pyramid Lake indians, neo-Nazis & corrupt cops =[
May 24th - A Pyramid Lake Paiute family was attacked by neo-Nazi skinheads at a Fernley, Nevada, convenience store, east of Reno. Family members were beaten with a crowbar and baseball bats, and stabbed. The neo nazis tried to cut off Bonta's braid. The victim, Bonta, was then arrested because of the white assailants connection with police. One of the attackers is the son of a retired Lyon County Sheriff officer. Bonta was denied medical treatment in jail. When the family called the jail, they were told that Bonta "would have to get his Indian doctor" if he wanted to be treated. The convenience store clerk said there is a video showing the attackers jumping out of the vehicle with baseball bats. Now the question remains if the US Justice Department will investigate the case, which includes police imprisoning the victim of a hate crime. CONTACT:ALYSSANBONTA at gmail.com
Just read about the story here, haven't listened to the show yet -

(the program is 'First Voices Indigenous Radio')
Found a few other mentions of it on the web. Pretty sad, but not unusual for the relatives of LE to get away with anything they want. Happens round these parts all the time.

That's awful! I know that kind of crap happens everywhere. The punishment for the neo-nazi's should be what they dished out to the Piute family. The retired officer should be put in jail for life, and be free to roam within the community of convicts.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.
I have proposed a law I call the Fair Play law, that penalizes abuse of authority by court and police officers, especially in the case of false prosecution, to the maximum penalty their actions could result in for someone else.
It will take political action in everyone's location to make this happen.
A recent case in L.A. had the police persisting in obstructing justice even after many years in prison for the accused.
This can happen to anyone.

I hate to take the controversial side of this story, but there could be much more to what you're reading here. I have read newspaper stories in which I knew all the facts, and nearly nothing in that story is what really happened. The best you can hope for with the media is that the "essence" of the story is right.
I really doubt that this attack was out of the clear blue. The reasons may actually be justified if they involve the injury or robbery of the "non-Paiute person or their family.
Again, I don't know the facts, but it may be that the "attack" was to stop and detain a criminal to hold that person for the police because of a violent crime.
I of course am not a fan of neo-nazis, but the reporter uses that term along with corrupt cops, when these things may just be subjective.
Imagine that the victim (Paiute dude) just broke into a home and robbed and assaulted an elderly woman at gunpoint. Now confronted by the attackers (neo-nazi dudes) to stop that person and hold them for the police. After a little resistance, the Paiute dude is held for police.
Keep an open mind here as you wait for the real facts of this story to come out.

Haven't seen a word about this in the RGJ, Reno News and Review, or any other local papers. Normally a LEO's kid, judges kid, gets in trouble here the whole world knows about it. Let alone a "retired" LEO's kid? The tribe are kind of the darlings of the RGJ, this just doesn't sound right.
Would like to know the name of the store, I will ask them myself.
A few more facts are needed here.
Sort of like this story.

Jake Casey is now in a wheelchair, and blind in one eye.
Hate crime?
Tribal members are no less vicious and violent then the rest of us at times.

Should also include lawyers in that.gyre wrote:I have proposed a law I call the Fair Play law, that penalizes abuse of authority by court and police officers, especially in the case of false prosecution, to the maximum penalty their actions could result in for someone else.

Another law should make it legal to photograph or video police officers while they are on duty. And to also make said pictures/videos admissible as evidence in court.

Not saying this type of shit doesn't happen but the news blog this was on only had one side of the story, which did in fact sound pretty awful. I suggest that the Bonta family call news channel 4 (local nbc) they do some pretty good investigative journalism. They were the first to report a serious hazing incident here this year at the high school involving kids of influential people and school admins and a couple of years ago reported a rape committed by a judges son.

There have been some very shady things happening with Denver Police over the last year or two.
These are two articles about one of the worst incidents
http://brownwatch.squarespace.com/polic ... death.html
http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_15488103
A older man was beaten to death by Sheriffs of the Denver City/County Jail. Though, he was found with drug paraphernalia and could have been high at the time, and could have been greatly resisting arrest. It likely could have taken 5 officers to subdue him, coupled with a possibly already elevated heart rate, and then being taz-ed could have put him over the edge. The coroner did declare the cause of death to be 'homicide'.
I was not there to say one way or there.
But what I do know is that the DPD did a damned good job of making it very hard for anyone to get information on what really happened. There was an investigation, but like too many events, something else came up in the news and people forgot.
Why don't ya stick your head in that hole and find out? ~piehole

If the source is a far right or left leaning org, I say fuck em.
99% of the shit they excrete is politically crafted drivel.
They prey on the weak of mind, those subject to conspiracies, and other people with similar crippling mental illness.
When someone tell me something that they claim is secret, suppressed, or forbidden knowledge, I ask em how may others they've shared their little 'secret' with.
Then I stab them in the head.
No f'ing time for conspiracy. Too much blantantly real shit going down.
If the best they could do was contact an alternative media outlet then there should be no surprise that they recieved an alternative resolution.
Dunno why this pushed my button. Maybe it was the plastic water bottle thread.
I'm gonna go play with fire.

All mainstream media in this country is controlled by far right ownership.
Many true stories never reach the public, and accuracy can be dismal, as often cited in coverage of self defense stories.
It is always wise to look carefully at a source and vet the facts yourself when it matters.
But sadly many stories are only available through unconventional sources, which is leveling the field sometimes.
Many stories now begin on blogs, etc.
My home invasion was reported with four mutually contradictory versions in the newspaper, all wrong.
I was never contacted.

Fuck. I hope I didn't open up a can of worms.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.
There are entire books written about what has happened with for profit news and the monopolies in place now.
Does anyone think GE, manufacturer of over 60,000 thermonuclear weapons, is all warm and fuzzy?
The sham of open reporting is carefully manipulated.
"Liberal media" is part of the Big Lie.
Censorship and manipulation have been exposed.
Most seem fooled however.
