Woohoo! I have it! Quick question: What are the input wire and which are the output wires on the controller? There are White, Brown, Yellow, and Black.

Oops. I meant to include a note...
Black goes to the the hot side of 120VAC, White to the neutral, and brown & yellow to the motor. I'm pretty sure the output of the controller is DC so you can swap the brown & yellow with each other to reverse direction.

A cool trick to reverse polarity with a switch for DC loads:

Its a DPDT switch although a relay works too. Relays wired this way are great for automation or remote operation. I did this for my little electric scooter to get reverse. Should've seen the looks on peoples faces while I zipped around in reverse .

Crap, tried editing and it won't come out right. input is at the terminals at either end of the switch and cross them to the other end terminals. The output is from the middle common terminals.

Yeah, this forum will wipe out extra spaces when trying to "draw". it's dumb. Thankfully I know what you mean by DPDT (Double pull, double throw) switch and how to wire one to reverse a DC motor.

Of course the motors I usually deal will are big enough to power a MV, so you need special high amperage "Contactor" switches.

It has the recessed "D" rings, that twist to open, but, no locking mechanism. Which, for a firetruck makes sense.
I'd love to find a "used twist D ring locking mechanism" site........hhahaa

Anyway, anyone know where to get such things? or, a good, and at least fairly nice looking, alternative?

I have definitely seen some of those that lock. I believe I've even seen some on firetrucks in NYC, but IIRC they are very similar to those used on some utility truck bodies. I would try a junk yard as many utility bodies end up there.

I'll go way out on the "Hey if you got it...." limb here.

We are looking for galvanized sheet metal roofing sections, in the 6 to 10 foot range or similar materials. The crustier and rustier the better.

The reason I am saying going way out on a limb is that we are driving from Texas so I do not think there is anyway we could pick them up and it would probably be cheaper to buy new than try to ship something like this.

What in the world does Smashy need with 8 to 10 foot galvanized sheet metal roof sections you ask? Well, we build up a fence as out artistic background for the front of the camp. A little something like this:
in 09 it was fairly small


Last year it got bigger


And this year it will be bigger still.

We likely can not come pick it up, but we can take it back home with us after the event if it is something you have laying around wanting to get rid of and have the means to get it out there.

Like I said, a total long shot, but hey, you never know unless you ask.

How about adding a cabinet/desk lock next to the twist locks.. It would stop the twist.. You can get key match sets from office supply's.. It would look good and not distroy thr ring effect.

Or you could slit the recess cup so the latch would come in and stop the ring from turning.

The lock is what you see on a desk or mailbox.. Key hole with chrome ring.. The back has a small bar arm that the key wrings into place for locking..

Yup
