Ignore Tomservo's advice and appreciate the snark for the colorful reflection that it gives this amazing counterculture gathering, and the people who trudge there each year.

Ignore TomServo's, and Shambala's advice, there is no snark here, these are not the snarks you are looking for.

Snark is well deserved and in fact encouraged when directed at first-time-post-free-ticket-e-panhandlers in the ticket forum.

As a noob, I endorse this message, approve the generally benign snarking I see here and wish all the Ineedacampers could be snarked right off the board as a matter of policy.

The best advice is to first get your ticket because they will not let you into the event without one. It's good to bring enough food so you do not go hungry during the week. Bring enough booze to keep you sufficiently altered if that is your bag. Bring water so you do not go thirsty. Finally, ignore the snark. That's just a defense mechanism for those who want to appear relevant when they have nothing relevant to say.

My advice: Absolutely show up at the Meet & Greet Thursday evening beginning at 6 p.m. in the hands-down unquestionably best theme camp on the playa, Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro. We have been around now for 12 years, so our reputation precedes us. And now the important part: bring several liters of absinthe. Oh, and a couple of pounds of lumpia. And three or four large bags of ice. And feel free to throw money our way, I mean, what the hell, it's not doing you one bit of good on the playa.

I meant the first 3/4 of this post.

There are other ways to communicate than 'whiny bitchiness ie snark'.

Many people aren't that good at communicating in text anyway.

It's not the same as talking, or even normal writing, to post on a communal forum.

It needs to be remembered that this is an international forum, and humour translates poorest of all, even when it is intended.

I am on forums that are fun without any crap.

It's just unnecessary, and mostly poorly done.

AGREE Tom.

Somewhere between the snarkers, inneeders, porto failure promoters, and holier than thou-ers...are a whole bunch of fucking cool people who are frankly...100% down. Playa props to them... See ya'll soon!

I think I've met many if the "snarkers, ineeders, porto failure promoters, and holier than thou-ers" on my last thread. Don't ask naive questions. It eventually resulted in this being leveled at me: "I said you were an annoying, presumptuous little cunt. Ooops, sorry, i meant bitch."
You've been designated for termination.

Eplaya is now well on it's way to becoming a place where AntiM will be an appropriate moderator.

It's up to the people using it and the llc, to decide if that's what they want.

It may be a very interesting case study to watch the forum deteriorate.

There are already plenty of teen gamer and camaro forums that fill the bill though.

I'd say that the biggest challenge facing this forum is what I've seen in other forums like this; that the core group ends up chasing away any new contributors and that it becomes a closed in chat space. I'm a part time contributor and feel okay adding my comments, but it took a lot of time to get to this point. A lot of folks get shot down pretty quickly and leave after just a few posts. Hell, I've been guilty myself of some of the snark that drove them away. Is this right? Not sure. Just hope it doesn't go away as it has been a great source of inspiration, information and entertainment for me. Thanks everyone.

Hey Noob! Draw a map of what you think you know and post a picture of it, You'll be tempted to ask how to post a picture so But don't Ask. RTFM, and
Around your map edges write unknown waters, sea snarks, and shirt-cocking-pirates. This is our camps policy for noobs we chase them out f camp as soon as the shade is up they go explore and we get the best Shade spots.

their maps inevitably have the man and our home radius street the real smart ones have JOTS and a bar or two.
