shade structure ideas

I'd like to have a shade structure to hang out in the daytime that can get a good breeze. Any ideas of an inexpensive way for me to get one going... i'm thinking of an area about 12" x 12".

I don't know if that'll be quite enough shade for you. You might try making a shade structure around 12' x 12'.

Kind of reminds me of that typo on This is Spinal Tap.

Park two trucks next to each other and crawl underneath.

several pieces of 10' pvc tubing and re-bar as stakes. salvage them from your local construction site. use sticks to hold two pieces together at the tops and lash them all together at the center of your "dome". picture six or eight pieces ina circle joinedat the top. cover w/ tarp or parachute or old fabric. enjoy.
