That isn't an especially good deal.
I don't even think much of rayovac.

You can usually get the industrial duracells (identical) for 35 cents or less.
Sometimes cheaper at big box stores, but off and on.

i pay slightly more for AAAs, which seem to be all i need these days.
About 75-80 cents for D cells.
2 to 2.50 for lithium disposable, great for headlamps.
Lightweight.

And that's in a retail store.
I'm sure you could do even better in bulk.

But I live in Canada.

Somehow they think we're MADE of money here, and everything is jacked up in price.

AND.... with free shipping, I can have them sent to my Pre-Burningman Landing Spot in Arizona, waiting for me to get there. Every little deal like this is golden to me as it allows me to buy supplies throughout the year rather than having to spend a fortune at the last minute on arrival.

So yeah. It's very useful to me.

I really recommend duracell.
Others tend to leak, just not up to snuff.

If you can buy from the usa, I think you can easily match those prices on duracell.
They market the industrial for companies, so competitive.
Same battery.
You might find better.
That one day thing is a pressure tactic.

Not a terrible price, just not impressive.
And who needs 50 AAs?
Everything seems to go AAAs now.

(I guess i do have 50 laying around, but only because I haven't needed them)

And when I was living on a generator, I really went through them.

I don't even know how many LED flashlights I have now.

One of my home automation catalogs had expired japanese batteries for about 10 cents each one time.

I was just offered a big discount to join Scam's Club, the walmart big box.

Want me to see what their batteries are?

Cosco might be better, but i can never justify the $100 they want to shop there.

I went there on someone else's card once.
Their alkalines weren't priced great, but their Duracell ultimate alkalines were.
Bought a big pack for about 40 cents each, I think.
It's an upgraded alkaline.

No it does not really level the playing field.

Buy Canadian = Pay Canadian prices (= higher price, PLUS federal taxes, PLUS provincial taxes if from within your province and most often shipping is outrageous)
Buy American and have shipped to Canada = High probability of paying Duty Fees
Buy Chinese and live with the guilt that you didn't go with either of the other options, but pay less and most often get free shipping....

These come to .30 per if I've done my math right. (math's really not my forte, so I could be way off - it's 50 batteries for 14.99. You tell me) That seems reasonable to me.

I almost exclusively buy Costco batteries for home use, but I can't bring them with me on the plane. Just no room.

Anyhow I'm pretty sure they all come from China anyway, regardless who I throw my money at.

it's not terrible.

Duracells rarely leak.
That'the important thing to me.

Even if they didn't last longer I'd stick with them.

Panasonics are better, but not as cheap.

how many batteries can you use in a week?
I don't go through that many.

That's the math I came up with too!! I thought it was a good deal. My previous employer used Rayovac batteries the entire I worked for them. Never leaked, never had a problem (ymmv).

To the cost of items I add my time, energy and gas. If I can buy online with free shipping, all the better!

I have never had any luck storing batteries for any considerable amount of time.

Any ideas as to which brands store better?

What type batteries and what would be a considerable period of time?

Batteries, by their nature, are inherently unstable.

Most store better cold.
Most simply change slower cold.

Most batteries have a lot more information available on them, if you can get it.
All batteries have a chart for power, temperature, discharge rates.
It is a curve, rather than a single spec.

Mechanical structure is an issue, as much as the chemical design, especially for storage.

I have had duracells (c cells) in a radio for over ten years.
I kept pulling the radio out and was astounded that the radio continued working.
I finally left them in to see how long they would last.
I noticed how rapidly everready leaked, even when new.
The duracells finally had a small leak on one cell after more than ten years, not an issue.
They continued working.

The forums contain similar info on the duracell.

Need more info, please.
