Does print WWW indicate when it's sold out?

Post by homey » Sun Jun 19, 2011 4:09 pm

We were a couple days late getting our events in. They're all approved/moderated as of today, but it looks like more than a thousand events are already listed (though some are repeats).

Does anyone remember if they post a "print edition closed" notice when it's full? Knowing whether 300 people are gonna show (print edition) vs 5 people (online listing only) will be very helpful when allocating prep time/resources.

Thanks!

IIRC, the WWW prints the first 960 events and the online listings are pretty much unlimited. The application closes July First.

edit: All anyone can do is prepare for what you are able to handle. For instance, we allot so much booze each day. Early in the week we have extra which balances the the deficit on the weekend. Whatever you are doing, giving or performing is best done within your own means. Plan for the worst and hope for the best!

Yes you are correct, trying to figure out if I made it into the 960.

Last year was the first year that the number 960 was used in limiting the entries.(It was not too long ago you had nearly the whole summer to enter your events with little or no word limit!!)To answer your question no notice was given last year when it was"full"Unfortunately there is no way of knowing if your event will make the guide.Even if you were the first freaking person to list there is still no guarantees as"mistakes happen".No one will know for sure until you enter the gate, get a copy of the WWW and look for your event.Inshallah it will be there.
Be careful. You can spend all your money in there..............................Oriental Visitor

thanks zorro. we've found the guide to be insanely valuable for getting bodies into the camp. the first time we tried it, we were blown away by the turnout for even the most rudimentary entry.

getting swept up in one's attempts to control any outcome at burning man is always hilarious. i will count this bit of pre-placement anxiety as lesson #1 for 2011.

Amen to that. Last year everything I entered for The Booby Bar made it except for my own party (Witness Protection Connection leading up to Sleepless in Black Rock City Night). This year we are stapling up posters at Center Camp to see if that helps. Has anyone "advertised" through the on-Playa radio stations?
