Ever since I began reading his work several years ago, I've always enjoyed Erik Davis' writings, especially his reflections on the playa. One of my favorite authors at the moment, actually. Im curious about other people's thoughts and sentiments towards Davis and his work on Burning Man. Hey, someone's gotta do it.
Here is a link to his website if you would like to check out some of his work:

Re: Erik Davis and Burning Man
Actually, for those who don't know, Erik Davis, along with Mark Nichols, wrote an Rock Opera called "Strange Weather: How to survive the Apocalypse". It's also commonly called the Burning Opera. It's is a Fantastic Show, and had a very successful Run in San Francisco, and is currently running in Los Angeles, as the Syrup Loft in Downtown. Erik narrates the show as a Snarky Megaphoned Rabbit, and it is Funny, Poignant, Rude, and all the stuff you'd see a the burn... So I'd say I'm a fan, and most who take the time to read his works would also most likely find a deep connection.
For The Record, I am involved in the L.A. Production, so I apologize if this comes off as a sell... It's not my intention. My involvement is in the Technical support, so I'm not a performer on this, but I have stood back and watched it with amazement.
