This is NOT my hometown! I have no hometown. Eternal nomad.Bounce530 wrote:??
They fly out of a town that's like 100 miles from your hometown.
Same problems as last year, going to a larger town with more options involves finding a ride there and back, gas money, etc. - and the flights out of nearby towns so far aren't any cheaper (one out of Charlotte actually cost more).
Otherwise, I'd do it.

shit CFM i got to fly to charlotte and then head west... i feel your pain... i looked at getting a direct flight from like Dulles but by the time i drive there and pay to park and what not it takes about the same amount of time/ money....not to mention i don't want to screw with Dulles... my little airport it only takes a couple of minutes to get through security..

Yeah, that is the one perk of a small town airport! I was late as hell last year, thanks to the inept taxi I took. Arrived crying and freaking out...but since I was the only person in line and you can see the gate from the check-in, I ended up being OK.lucky.bastard wrote:shit CFM i got to fly to charlotte and then head west... i feel your pain... i looked at getting a direct flight from like Dulles but by the time i drive there and pay to park and what not it takes about the same amount of time/ money....not to mention i don't want to screw with Dulles... my little airport it only takes a couple of minutes to get through security..
Although this is good advice in general, this particular sale -- on the airline's site -- was far superior to anything I've seen on "Cheap Flights" and the like.... which I peruse almost daily, hoping to find some way to get there for under $1600.janjozeff wrote:When searching for airline tickets never use the airline systems first because you won't get comparable quotes. I went thru the steps, and was able to reel it in for just around $1000.... but then realized that perhaps the 7+ hours drive to the airport (plus the 2 nights that would have been necessary for the very early flight out and the very late return) might not be worth the savings.
....so I released it back to the pool and I'm still searching.....

Clearly a troll, it seems to me, especially since the "cheap" links were considerably (over $100) more than what I found in my search (orbitz, expedia, travelocity, kayak, cheaptickets, priceline, etc.).janjozeff wrote:When searching for airline tickets never use the airline systems first because you won't get comparable quotes. About to search again. I vaguely recall being told tickets are cheaper on Tuesdays for some reason.
