I have the marine and automotive flavors. They're about equally chewy once cured. I can't tell which is better. If it floats I'll use the marine flavor. If it rolls I think either would be just fine .

By the way, the gem-tac started coming off those goggles I previously posted about. The fabric is separating already... I think I need a better solution :(
Not sure but I think spray paint would make the belt really stiff or the paint crack, haven't gotten paint on something already stiff like a belt but I know it doesn't bend well when it gets on pants, I think you can get some fabric paint and that would work, or even Wood stain might work being a white belt.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Rustoleum makes a line of spray paint that bonds with plastic.

I need to paint something that's mostly PVC but a crucial component is aluminum so of course I went with the fluorescent

Made perfect sense at the time.

I haven't used it yet, waiting for the rain to let up and humidity to drop.

possible solution is to drill a few tiny holes in the goggles around the rim where the fabric is, then hand stitch the fabric onto the goggles using those holes.

Ok, sewing machiners, I need help. My !@#$% Pfaff won't work. Here's what's going on:

None of the usual solutions (adjusting tension, fiddling with the bobbin, different thread, different size needle) are working and it's making me nuts.

I haven't used that brand but did use a spray paint made for plastic. It worked really great. No sanding the plastic so it kept the smooth surface and ended up looking very nice. I was surprised that it worked as advertised!

Might be as simple as an upside down bobbin but looks like tension issues, I had it happen awhile back and had my machine cleaned and re-set, best 20 bucks I ever spent  ..(((CFM))) good luck !

Reset? Not familiar with that.

Playing with tension hasn't worked...or different threads and fabrics. Usually I can just tool around and fiddle with the tension and it magically restores itself. I just don't know what else to try. Le sigh. I'm desperately trying to finish some commission projects but really don't want to do ALL the sewing by hand!

I thought about doing a hem with stitch-witchery, but that doesn't always look good with jersey.

are those big snarls on the underside? it looks like the upper thread tension regulator is not holding the thread when the thread take up lever comes up to pull back all the thread the needle shoved through the fabric.

upper thread tensioner:
does it release when you use the thread release? ( right knee actuated on my machine, or lever on back that lifts the presser foot ) is the upper thread tensioner always loose? how high is the presser foot?

Did you miss the any of the hooks and eyes threading the upper thread?

If you set everything ready to sew, but have not penetrated the fabric with the needle, can you pull thread out thru the needle? try this at various positions of the machine rotation - turn the hand wheel

clean the bobbin and lower rotating hook area

If all alse fails, google something like 'sewing machine hairball'

Finally, my first ever sewing project is done (got lazy when I realized it was not going to fit me). Just have to find suitable buttons. At least my son will be able to make use of it, although he was annoyed at modeling it with a hangover this morning.

No, everything else is normal...the knotting is on the underside which usually indicates tension...and is usually remedied by adjusting tension. I'll just tool around some more when I ge home, I guess.

When that used to happen on the industrial machines I maintained it was usually one of 2 things.

1. Bobbin thread tensioner (spring tensioner may be the correct term) was dirty. It was a piece of spring steel on the side of the bobbin holder with a set screw to adjust. I used to regularly have to remove them, clean thoroughly and reinstall about once a week, but these were machines that were running 8 hours a day.

2. or the bobbin thread tensioner just needed adjustment.

I'm no expert though, for anything beyond routine maintenance we would bring in a repair tech.

Thanks. He actually loves the coat, but I think I woke him up about 2 hours after he went to bed lol.

It has a magenta tie dye flannel lining so I just hope it isn't too warm.

Now to decide whether to try scaling that poorly sized pattern and make one for myself (I found a really nice black, silver, and purple brocade the other day), or just take the lazy way out and decorate my old army greatcoat.

Actually he likes colors like that and would probably wear it in defaultia too, but he is not comfortable with the idea of walking around NYC looking like a pimp. I guess that could lead to some dangerous interactions (police, real pimps) so it would be best not to.

I showed the pics to my mother and her guesses are bobbin threading or bobbin tension. Did you try making a new bobbin from scratch and testing again?

I usually have that same issue when I forget to put the presser foot down.
