Heyy! Where are my St. Louis & Los Angeles Burners AT??

Post by MVK_LIM » Fri Jun 24, 2011 10:35 am

Hi everyone! I just wanted to take the time to re-introduce myself! My Name is Aaron and I'll be attending my first burn this year!! O.O The seed has been growing in my head over the past 2 years and is about ready to reach full maturity... My situation is that I am from St, Louis MO and my friend who i plan to attend BM with will be moving to LA come July. I will fly out to LA at least a week before the burn to stock up on supplies and visit 6 flags magic mountain :) Has anybody ever seen/heard of a roller coaster on the playa???
I guess what i am looking for are burners in the LA area that would be interested in 2 enthusiastic burners joining your crew/camp! I am also looking for burners to connect with in the St. Louis area if not to cover my bases, to meet new family! P.S. if anyone at BMORG is reading this, please update the ride share section on your website! For people reading this looking for their own way of getting to burning man please check out the website.....

.... Spread the word!

BM is going to be a defining moment of my life )'(

Hey Aaron!

The current guess is that the http://rideshare.burningman.com board will update to 2011 in July. It is indeed hard to wait so long with a trip this big. That you are taking matters into your own hands with another website could be said to embody radical self-sufficience, which is a Burn Principle, so . . . good on ya.

Most camps are closing up right about now, so chase specific camps down in the 2011 Camps thread if you can, join the regional mailing lists of relevant cities, and don't forget that you don't need a camp if you've done all your first timer reading on the main site, and are capable of setting up and staking down. Especially if you're flying into LA so early--you'll have plenty of time to shop for shade and other amenities. And if you camp on your own, your time is your own--no obligations to anyone.

. . . There was indeed a roller coaster on the playa at least one year, and there has been a truly giant Giant Slide, at least one carousel, and several teeter totters, some of them frighteningly tall, and one of which rotated 360 degrees while the chairs moved up and down. It was spun by two operators who would run to get it going and then ride underneath, being carried off of the ground. Etc . . .

Welcome MVK-Lim!

I'd imagine that the ride share board isn't going to be loaded tell the whole new 'eplaya shift/upgrade' Even then it could take a while. But that is supposed to happen on Monday, so we'll see! Maybe it will be on the other side waiting for us!

Keep an ear out and keep searching. I can't imagine that finding a ride from LA would be too difficult.
Why don't ya stick your head in that hole and find out? ~piehole

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!
Elderberry

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

A plan is what you vary from.

Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!
