Still pink and new!

Post by SouthernExposure » Thu Jun 23, 2011 7:45 am

Hey asshats!

I am a f1rst timer from the sultry state of Missi-fuckin-ssippi going home to a place I've never been before! I have been planning to go each year for 13 years now and have finally gotten my priorities and life in order to take advantage of an incredible gifting from a friend.

I am a 55 year old artist/designer and I have tent camped a lot over the years but never in a desert. I can be found holding down a hammock and up a margarita at Camp Cats!Cats!Cats! with other multi-burners in our entourage. We will be sporting hexayurts and loincloths. Keep an eye out for the animated light show on the back of my tuxedo tailcoat!

See y'all there!

Hey dickwad, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome Southern Exposure,
You're from Mississippi? Wow, I'm surprised you can read!
And that you have electricity!
O wait, you're probably at Starbucks having the coffee lady read to you.

Welcome to eplaya!

Going to Burning Man has been near the top of my bucket list for well over a decade. Once I go, I will add another line to the list. It will be to take someone else to Burning Man.

Love.

That's a great way to manage your bucket list - so it never ends.

After 13 years of thinking about coming, be prepared to give yourself a bit of an ass kicking. That's how I felt anyway, even though I'm a natural born procrastinator (and my excuses were really pathetic - I live in Reno!)

Welcome! I did a similar thing: planned for 8 years and then finally managed to go in 2008. I've been hooked ever since :) and I love taking new people with me!

My biggest hurdle has simply been the distance to get there. As we say here in MS, BRC is a fur piece. Before I heard anything about it, we lived between Modesto and Stockton, CA. It would have been an easy run back then.

Now, not so much.

Either way, I'm coming home!

As we say here on eplaya, "A merkin is a fur piece."

What does it say about me that I knew what a merkin was before I ever showed up here? And what does it say about eplaya that so many of us know what one is?

That's is so damned funny!
I've used that for years as a term of endearment for people I like, admire, and am fond of.
There've been first posters whom I think I'd like, but few that I knew for a fact. He's like the big guy who kicks open the bar room door and shouts "Hey Assholes!" with a huge grin that reaches the eyes.

Shitty, you had me at Asshat!
