U Haul
I was thinking of renting a U haul in Reno. Are they burner friendly? Are should I keep that hush hush.

NO, they are not. The ONLY burner friendly rental truck service is Budget on Gentry Way. Listen to me on this one.

However they are getting less friendly when it comes to rates.A new manager last year told me his policy was not to "Hammer Burners".Voila prices went down 25% from 2009.Virtually the same price we paid in 2001 when renting trucks for The Project was somewhat rare.
Went in last month to reserve and found the prices had gone up....way up.When I aked the manager,a new one again, why the big jump he told me it was the new policy to "Raise rates during Burning Man".
Hard to blame them as no competition but still disapointing

Before I commited to drive from the east coast again I researched this.
Didn't I read somewhere that if you book online at the commercial rate you could still use online coupons and that no proof of business association was needed? I seemed to recall coming up with a rate comparable to JS.

HOw much did the insurance run you? We used a 25 footer last year but got it for the 15 ft price. I have a hexayurt but may just end up camping out of the box truck. How cool did it stay inside it during the day? Were able to sleep during the day in it. We spent monday night of last year in the truck but monday/tuesday weather was fairly mild so....
