I would suggest there is a differance between pratical jokes and bullying.
Grew up with a bunch of older/younger cousins and practical jokes where fun on each other. Younger sister she was evil though, nothing funny about the mean spirtited shit she pulled.

Here at work they are a way to relieve stress, as long as no one is care flighted out. So far no serious injuries or property damage. I have pulled some epic ones, and have been the target of a few, literally.

vaddynwashere,

As long as the audience participation element is kept as lighthearted as your original thought, it seems cute. (I'm not much of a practical joker or I'd try to help. I'm more straight-up absurd).

Also, it's probably best if you clue him in after one day or one evening (or some other reasonably limited amount of time). "Sign my pants" would probably be found out in that amount of time.

It makes so much more sense for you to make some sort of interactive thing to do with your first timer, so they don't feel like a fool. I'm all for practical jokes, but a newbie who is unsure of everything, may not have the best time of they are a victim here.
I still like the locking in the port-a-potty thing though!

Put a mannequin wearing a gorilla suit in their sleeping bag/tent when they're out. Or even better, put on the gorilla suit and crawl into their tent when they're sleeping. :D

I agree.

No really, lets give 'em a couple hits of really good acid, and just blow their mind to fucking bits. oooh, wait, that is probably not, NOT, a good idea, please ignore my input as it is useless and doesn't help at all.

2 years ago while changing out ice chest water I needed to dump it. I stop 2 different groups of walkers and asked them to trust me..(yea I know, right).

I convinced them that I was about to expand the experience that they will not forget. The clod cold water was in a clean bucket out of site. I made them agree to stand and not run away. They knew what was coming when they saw the bucket but not how cold it was. Both groups stayed and chatted for some time and one group walked away with Barbie's that were for Doc's. 8) 8) 8)

a few years ago a camper of ours stayed out way to late
stumbled back into camp about 9 am, passed out in a lawn chair.

we tried to wake him up, but he just wouldn't move.

about an hour later, a couple of the girls had a safety meeting.
started giggling, and soon they where stripping down, and posing with him.
while pictures where taken of what he wouldn't remember on his summer vacation.

he is still kicking himself years later.

As I wipe the coffee off my monitor, I am thinking that is possibly the most evil practical joke ever - I love it.

The sign my pants idea seems pretty good too - harmless and might actually be fun for him. I'm thinking interactions with folks that he might not have had without that.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.
