I was just informed on the backstory to that Cap'n Jack photo!

I want his coat! So much EL wire and no coat.
I'm thinking of getting out my old army dress overcoat tho...
I'd just love to see the look on top's face

The one above was done manually.
Exactly the same way you'd put a picture in a post.

Go to the "profile" link at the top of the page. Scroll down to the signature box and add the URL to your picture between image tags.

Code: Select all

The link has to be to a graphic file with either a .jpg or .gif extension.

I have trouble with the endings. Because "Jella" ends like with an "a" like "Maria" or "VBirginia" I tend to think "girl." I know I don't always guess right, so I just sort of keep on believing in my first thought anyway, or standing in the back so no one knows I was confused.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

that's a whopping $10 a day per cap, And I'm sure that the Water pump ate more gas than that each day.

Skirt clip, garter, guard, etc., you can also buy sweater clips or go to Joanne's/Hobby Lobby/etc. and get them for attaching things:

Does it fit? Isn't it the best jacket ever?!

The little gift would be great wire-wrapped, but that isn't one of my primary skills. It is painted with glass paint. Originally part of a water color paint set of my mother's, which was all dried out, so I scrubbed out the paint and made burning trinkets instead.

MyLarry got the brake controller for the trailer installed, and has constructed the side rails.

I wasted time on eplaya.

It was FUN! I NEEDED that 'vacation' so badly. Got laid off after 13yrs @ PRC. Hadn't taken hardly any vacation (3 funerals + 2 weddings), had 256hrs of vacation banked (big clue).
So mining was like a vacation at a waterpark concentration camp. I got to play in the dirt and the river all day long, yay!
Hard work but it took my mind off all aspects of my default life and allowed me to experience a freedom I had longed for. I'd have liked to make some $ sure, but the experience exceeded all of my expectations ans totally trumped the profit motive. I was going to go this year but I have a new experience to prepare for. Hmm, less work, more play, I'm in!

Fuck I go on and on.
Don't ever ask me for a short answer
(I'm a quiet person but my fingers have minds of their own)

Edit-addition: And I just LOVE the feel of a wetsuit! I may just bring it as evening wear...
That's a 7mm cold water suit, maybe I'll find me a 3mm one, mmmm!

Yes the jacket fits, little snug around the ta tas but I expected that. I will just leave it open (gives a nice hint of naughty) matches the mocs I got too. I will attempt to wire wrap the trinket so that I can wear it. tres cool!

I actually did get Two Somethings done for the Burn yesterday . . .

* Finally reorganized my insane storage closet so that I could unstack all my Rubbermaid containers and start filling 'em up in preparation--yet actually tuck them away after every day of additions. Huge improvement.

* Also talked logistics with the Local Friend who will probably be hauling my gear one state away (during a trip he was already taking) to my Rideshare Friend. If this plan works out, it'll be awesome, but I will have to let everything but costumes out of my hands in just over three weeks.

(Costumes are actually what take me the longest to choose every year, but I've still never had to be ready in July before and it's freaking me out, man.)

As part of my campaign against sparkleponies, I can, for a low, low fee come to your house and shred 80% (by weight, bulk or item) of your costume, freeing you up to do something worthier with your burn.

Our 34' Bounder is now de-winterized.
The fridge/freezer still works! Can you say Otter Pops and Orange Dream-Sickles!

Other than that, got a little extra cash this pay check so I'm gonna order some el wire. Sadly, the best deals for the el wire wont get it here tell mid July :(

I thought it'd be fun to traipse around in a wetsuit, scuba goggles and breathing tube, fins, etc. That and a furry Inuit outfit with large snowshoes.

But it sure won't be the same color after the burn! :)

So far just planning during the week and yard sale shopping on the weekend. Last Saturday I scored a complete sailor suite and red ambulance driver jump suit. As well as a new (used) tent.

My list just gets shorter and shorter.

I made a major breakthrough with a problem whose solution has been eluding me for awhile regarding my secondary art project (which, incidently, has quickly become my primary art project at least in terms of attention and labor). I need to focus on this one quickly followed by the primary, now secondary, project because space in the NY container goes on sale July 6*.

I need to know by that time whether I can fit 15 "18" cubes, a 8' tall (length TBD but at least that long) insect, two lions (kin of Patience and Fortitude), a monkey hut, tent and normal BM survival stuff into my Jetta. I think it's doable, what could go wrong?

Does anyone have a rather large shoehorn?

NOTE TO SELF - MUST REMEMBER TO LEAVE ROOM FOR FOOD/WATER

* this is very good for me as I've been dragging my ass for awhile, doing a bit here a bit there. I've always been goal-oriented, open ended stuff just doesn't get done until it becomes crucial. I'll take my motivation where I can get it.

Oh I volunteered for anothr project over the weekend, but its really an act of compassion regarding composing material and placing something at Temple for another burner who is not going. There will be no problem with motivation on that one, just a question of when it fits best into the schedule.

Edit: Anothre prime example of why one should not post under the influence

I hit up Value Village's 50% off day yesterday when the eplaya was down and got a transparent lace corset and a garter (I think it's what its called; it holds up thigh high stockings) for $3 a piece, a knee length gold and green shiny brocade skirt for $4, a brass champagne glass, and a cute mini radio for my bicycle. Overall I'm pretty pleased. My costume is nearly complete! :D

A garter is like an elastic band. A garter belt is a belt with wacky little strings that attach to the top of stockings and keep them up.
