How do you navigate eplaya?
How do you navigate eplaya?
Once I log in, I press "Board index" and then "View new posts." This gives me two pages of threads in the order of when they were last replied to.

Re: How do you navigate eplaya?
I'm just figuring the navigation out on this board myself.
These links are your friend "View unanswered posts • View unread posts • View new posts • View active topics".
The first few times I visited the new format, I was clicking on "View new posts" and discovered that there was a lot more "new" stuff, but it's all "newer" stuff, I think sorted by date.
Then I discoverer the "Mark Forums Read" lint to the right of those four other links. I marked all forums read, then I clicked on "view unread posts". Of course, the search produced no results, as I was expecting.
Then the next time I logged in, and every time I log in now, I just click on the "View Unread Posts" and I see everything that has been posted since the last time I was here.
That's what I'll be using from here on out.

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

* I'm enjoying the drop-down menu at the bottom right much more than I used to, because the visual difference in the overall forum is just enough to weird me out.
* I used the little "change font size" icon towards the top right to increase the size, which has made the change in font more easy to adjust to.

Oh, I didn't even notice those until you pointed them out.Savannah wrote:* I'm enjoying the drop-down menu at the bottom right much more than I used to, because the visual difference in the overall forum is just enough to weird me out.

I really like the new self control panel, it has the messaging, your own posts, new posts and everything else there.
I also LOVE the new PM emaill notifications. They now actually tell you who is sending you a message so I can begin smiling before I've even read the message!

And I preferred the one-click, one-stop Profile screen from before. Quicker and easier.Foxfur wrote:I really like the new self control panel, it has the messaging, your own posts, new posts and everything else there.
It's funny how we adapt to things. My eyes go straight to the upper right corner to log in before remembering I have to go to the one place at the bottom left, now. And I don't know if I did "Unread Posts" or "New Posts," it was an automatic thing! I never paid attention to what it said.

I navigate poorly and with frustration.

Re: How do you navigate eplaya?
The problem I found (in the old configuration, I haven't tried it on eplaya 3.0) with the "all new posts" was that when I replied to a thread, the view didn't update. I just work my way through the sub fora, top to bottom. Sometimes I go to the Bar or Da Bar and post their first so I can see a reaction by the time I've worked my way to it again.

Re: How do you navigate eplaya?
I hit my favorite posts first.
Then I start looking at the forums that have the pink icon at the left (used to be yellowish orange) for new. Then I hit the threads that are new, pink.
I tend to not use the "new posts" and all that on the main page. Just sorta surf through.
Though, I'm sure that I forget about conversations that I'm involved in.
Also, on an alternate note, it seems that I have "1 new message" but cannot find it.
Any help?

It appears our friend lists (sounds so facebookey) have evaporated. Maybe not many use it but I think it's kinda handy. It'll make a good xmas card list or playa visit bingo card...

It sounds like you use "Sexy" much as I do. Applied to inanimate objects, building and craft materials, and machines!delle wrote:Oooooooooooh. Sexy!!!!Foxfur wrote: or playa visit bingo card...

Illy Dilly, I see messages at the upper left now instead of at the top center. "User Control Panel -> 0 New Messages -> View Your Posts."Also, on an alternate note, it seems that I have "1 new message" but cannot find it.

Re: How do you navigate eplaya?
All depends on the context. Normal low key is SEX SEE, super excited is SEX SAY or even SEK A SAY!Trishntek wrote:so do you pronounce it "SEX SEE" or "SEX SAY"?

Yeah me too.Savannah wrote:Illy Dilly, I see messages at the upper left now instead of at the top center. "User Control Panel -> 0 New Messages -> View Your Posts."Also, on an alternate note, it seems that I have "1 new message" but cannot find it.

But mine reads "* User Control Panel (1 new message) • View your posts"
and I can't find the 1 unread message. They are all messages I've read, it is quite frustrating.
I'm wondering if I delete every message if it will go away? But then I'd have to re-have (not rehab) conversations I've already had.
lol, I guess it would be Conversation Re-laps.
