Why do I hang around here?

I hang around here cause I feel I found a group of people who share with me a love for some really cool things. although I might disagree with some folks here sometimes I would still want their input and opinion which I value. I am inspired by some of the people who have, in my opinion, shown some values and ideals that just knock me out. I could gush futher, but I have a hard time finding the words, while others here quite often express my thinking better then I can myself.

So, why you hang out here? just wonderin'

Probably because I am so excited for my first burn, an this is my best connection to lots of people who have done it before, know what to do, what not to do, etc.

Of course it doesn't hurt that there are a lot of really great, witty and generous folks on here that are willing to take the time to help people like me out with our (probably annoying and repetitive) questions... offer advice, a kind word or a needed bit of levity.

Off to go play with my bus now.... wish me luck!

The reason I hang around ePlaya is mostly because of the sense of community here. Many of the folks in my everyday life are curious about TTITD and enjoy hearing various stories so they can vicariously experience our burn. But this is the place where people who are serious about TTITD congregate on a regular basis.

Some I have met briefly and others I've not met and hope for future face time. Each of us have various projects, ideas and goals which only another burner can understand. To share these notions, give and receive feedback, study what works and what might work or simply shoot the shit is a way to continually keep in touch with HOME.

I've cried and laughed here and received responses from people I've never met who brought comfort and wisdom at just the right time. Everyday life is so full of selfish, narcissistic, freeway mentality, short-attention-span idiots that ePlaya is an oasis of sanity,,,,, most of the time.

The Burning Man event is a gathering of the most generous, unpretentious, grateful group of people I've had the pleasure to be among. ePlaya is the closest I get to that the rest of the year.

I like hanging around here because i learn some great tips on how to stalk people. its a shame all my targets currently live in a different continent

well, I hang here, for so many reasons, I'm not really sure I can enumerate them.
but:
The folks here, are great. Divergent opinions, attitudes, backgrounds and predilections.
We hug, fight, cuss, kiss and anything in between. But, the common thread is, we seem a "group". We may disagree, even vehemently, and call each other names and all that stuff. But, at the end of the day, we'll also give each other water, beer, hugs and the occasional "reacharound".
Some of the most intelligent, inventive, "genius" minds I've ever encountered, are ensconced within this electronic box.
I've learned so much here.
The true empathy of denizens of eplaya, is amazing. Often, quite often, folks who have never met, and may never meet, will help eachother "just because".

How foogin cool is that? Damn cool, IMHO.

The humor, music, poetry and entertainment, is a daily adventure "out of the box".

I so love meeing, in the "real world" any of the folks here........to know and touch, those who, for most of the year, are an avatar and some text.....with perhaps a goofy "img" file or "youtube" (well, before now anyway).
Some folks come, and some go. Some are just plain mean and nasty, others so loving and genuine, you wanna cry.
But all, and in the true sense of "all inclusive" contribute, in some way, to what this is.

I tip my hat, to one and all.
