Why hello there!

Post by HELLo'kitty » Thu Jun 09, 2011 12:14 am

Long time lurker, first time poster... :P
Okay, not really a long time lurker. I never even knew Burning Man existed until two and a half months ago. >_<
So that of course makes me a virgin burner, coming to the playa proudly all the way from Alaska. :3
Hope to see you all there! I've been reading for a while about all the amazing art installations and theme camps being built, and I can't wait to spend a week exploring and participating :D

HELLO Kitty!

Read the survival guide if you haven't already (2011 coming soon, but it probably won't be much different) . . .

http://www.burningman.com/preparation/e ... index.html

I went from "What's burning man?" to attending it in about the same span of time as you did, so--it can be done! Prepare like a madwoman, release all expectations & see what happens. :)

Hello!
Lol, I have seen pictures of Animal Control, and I'm extremely tempted to engage them in a big game of chase if I can find them on the playa. :P

Laf' I live in Fairbanks, never been to Ketchikan. But I hear it's....Alaska-y.

Savannah, thank you! I've read the survival guide quite a bit, luckily coming from Alaska I already have most of the camping gear I'll need (except things like dust masks :P). Right now I'm craigslisting all kinds of stuff to come up with extra funds - as of now I haven't secured a ticket. >_< But I will soon!
Meow.

Welcome, and such.

Don't forget to join your local regional group, you might be able to find things, and such with them. http://regionals.burningman.com

As for bad places for kitties... I can think of one playa bar you might want to stay away from.

Wow - all the way from Alaska? Brrr, it's cold up there! How will you survive in the heat?
