Walking around house w Costume and Hydration Pack

Post by Solito » Wed Jul 06, 2011 4:22 pm

Anyone else? I even realized I was at my apartment's laundry machines moving clothes from washer to dryer and mildly surprised a neighbor. I think they expected such behavior from me.

Yup - same here

Most days around the house, in or out, I'm in some form of 'playa gear' as my son calls it.... probably not so uncommon or unusual

Yah - most days.

Although it makes me feel "burny", for me it is more that I want to make sure my stuff will be broken in and comfy - the Playa would be a rather bad place to realize the stuff you brought is uncomfortable for extended wear (especially boots). Wearing my costumes now gives me the options of altering them for comfort if necessary.

I'm spending most of my time working my backpack, modding it, etc. Just added a few locking carabiners that hold many of my most used items by split rings -- everything from little LED lights, plastic spoons, nail clippers, army can opener, collapsible cup, and much more. I've got 4 "hang points" to move those items around on... Then I walk around the house doing normal stuff with a full pack bladder and try using only what I have in the pack to perform all tasks... even at night with the lights out and dust goggles on my head. (sheesh)

Bwahahahaha, I am sitting at my desk at work with a lavishly decorated brassiere under my tee-shirt, checking to see if the straps bite or if any of this shiney stuff rubs off.

So far so good!

Second thread today where I heard about cooling vests. So, off to google.
Kendoll has been wearing his costumes around just to torment the daughter's boyfriend. He thinks we are nuts, we think he is a bum. So it's a push lol.

Have I told you lately that I love you?

Savannah, it looks like we have the stuff to make a couple. Ken bought the filler stuff for a "pee" experiment that didn't work out.
So, looks like i'll be working on this over the weekend.

I swear to god i never liked smileys before and on here I just can't help myself. Sorry Bob the couch. At least you got your youtube wish so far.

Well, the  emoticon made that sentence 10 times funnier; I laughed out loud.

I do honestly regret that the emoticons pierce Bob's soul.

I think I use them because I would rather never be mistaken for sarcastic or hostile. (If I am out to hurt someone's feelings, it had better be both deliberate and deserved.)

I'm wearing my Shit Happens When You Party With Bad Maggie t-shirt, very paint spattered. It has a picture of the burning effigy the Utahns built at Singularity one year. (old Vegas burn).

I saw the pics you posted of Ken previously and was struck with great admiration for his spirit.
He has just trancended cool and risen to epic awesomeness as a result of his guerilla actions against 'Most Evil Boyfriend"!
Ken is super!
Give him a pat on the back for me and a pat wherever you'd like to for yourself.
Hope we meet up in the desert :)

Almost everything I wear on the playa I wear here in SF, so I don't really need to break anything in. Of course I dress rather plainly all the time...

I wore my barbarian shoulder pads into the Chevron minimart. A lady asked me WTF?
Couldn't think of a snappy comeback. Just shrugged.
Thought of tons on the way home (always that way...).

Eric you have got to work on spicing up your wardrobe - way too boring and plain

Me thinks you should complete your barbarian outfit and re-visit the Chevron minimart for their WTF pleasure
Guaranteed you will get a second chance at the snappy comeback....

The harlequin print is a "sun robe" (1970's Neiman Marcus even!), I think the trousers you're remembering are the polka-dot ones.

Both very boring of course.
