Ff: come visit. I live in the middle of the "mother lode" here in northern CA. Lots of panning, lots of gold.
There's hardly a place, you can't just scoop dirt and find a little "color". And, sometimes, you really "hit it".
Goathead has a nice mining claim near here, too. My cousin owns a hardrock mine, and the creek on the property has gold. In fact, the creek/canyon name is "Slug Canyon", not named for the state mollusk here, but, because the nuggets found upon original exploration, were about the size of a "slug" of chewing tobacco.......The mine reports, and bureau of mines reports, show his mine, the "triple pocket", had 3 pay zones (from whence the name came) that averaged over 40 oz./ ton of high grade ore.
He's now tunneling in below that area, hoping to repeat earlier successes.........

Happy, is having pals come visit, and finding gold..........or, sitting, drinking, and laughing........
Well moon and stars, Yiggy! I would be honored!
I wouldn't even mind if no gold were to be found.
Friendship is far more valuable and it is beyond price.
Let's do it.
I'll be in Reno thru July 24th or 25th. After that I'm totally free.
Know what? I was already planning to bring my sluicebox, pans, classifiers, etc.
I was going to do a li'l prospecting in S. Oregon (Cow Creek, S. Umpqua, Gold Hill on the Rogue).
I'm quite serious if you are, yay!
Really Yiggy, that would be fantastic. :D

That's the funniest post I've read here in awhile.

All this happy talk is driving me bonkers. I'm just sitting back enjoying the manic phase and waiting for the inevitable crash.

That reminds me! Among our treasure trove of prizes are THREE RUBBER CHICKENS and TWELVE soft and squishy CHICKEN RUN CHARACTERS! We gave Cock N Waffle one of those animated choking chickens last year. Mom loves hers cuz about all she can do is shake when she grabs hold of something and,,,, well,,,,, the choking chicken is definitely something she can do with enhanced vigor!

I played in the toilet next door this afternoon. Don't want to hijack the thread,,,, BUT,,,, I snaked it three times 15' and ran the snake AND garden hose down the clean-out. Changed the seal between tank and stool. It seems to be sucking air from somewhere and the bubbles come up through the hole which is regulated by the "FlOpPeR vAlVe" and it doesn't make much more than a mild whirlpool without ever actually fluSHing. All the drains work fine in the rest of the place. Any ideas? Please PM me if you have any ideas,,,, don't wanna fuck up the groove on this thread.

I enjoyed it though,,,, nice to be busy with my hands. What's really cool, is this is the slow time of year for work,,,, only worked 2 days last week and had today off as well! Looks like I'll be home by NOON tomorrow! YAY!

Today for the first time ever I got to drive a semi pulling a low boy trailer. It was just around the maintenance yard to fuel the man lift on the trailer and the small engine that runs the hydraulics for the trailer. It was fun!! I Pulled off a blind side back around dumpsters with close vehicles and only needed to pull forward 10 feet to straighten the whole thing out to have it right where the lead man wanted it. :D :D :P Good times.

Nice to see all the fun stuff happening with everybody else too. Keep it fun and keep it coming.

Yay! I had the best day today!! Everything just fell into place. No drama, no stress. I felt happy all day! I can't tell you enough how good I felt today! I felt peaceful and contented. I gave myself a big hug and told myself what a great person I am. I know it sounds narcissistic, but I realized I really am a great person. It's been while since I've felt this way! :D

Guess what?
Yup. Foxfur was quite happy today. Ok, Very Happy. Very, Very Happy.
Minxy, Helga, Espressodude, and I met for lunch at the Lucky Labrador in Portland today.
We got to meet MINXY, Yay! Amazing woman, she is way cooler than you (whoever you are). Suck it. :D
I strolled in with my new full length leather coat with bisected prehistoric snake rib collar detail, body armor, bellbottom hiphugger camo BDU pants, SWAT hat, Neo shades, and a nose ring (forgot that in the pic, damn!). The looks from civilians on the street were priceless as I walked the half block from my truck.
Image

Lookit us sexy bitches. Too sexy for our shirts indeed.
I was gifted my coat. Espressodude hand made his entire outfit. Espressodude for the win!
Foxfur comes in a distant fourth behind Minxy and Helga.
I'm cool with that.
Yay!

Have ya ever read "Electric Koolaid Acid Test" About Ken Kesey and The Mary Pranksters?
They talk about loading up the bus and driving around Height Ashbury (before the hippie Migration) and going for what they called 'old fashion hippie freak outs'.
Sorry, what you said about civilians just made me think of that.

Guys. Guys. Guys.

I was at the main site today and clicked on a thing called Little Stories, which is about the micro-moments you have out there that are special and unforgettable, and someone linked a youtube video in the comments area--which is only 29 comments strong as of this posting, but is the best part of the article because everyone's sharing their microstories--and the video that was linked halfway down the comments area is absolutely beautiful and poignant (the pretty song they set the video to only helps) and now I'm sitting here at work with something in my eye . . .

My Playa Adventure - Burning Man 2010 [pt.1]

Anyway, this is what is making me happy today and I hope someone else watches it. Now I'm going to watch "My Playa Adventure - Burning Man 2010 [pt.2], although I am tempted to just stop now while the getting is good . . .

Aw, man. I can't wait.
