Username/login issue
Username/login issue
So, it's been a month or so since I've logged into ePlaya. I used my normal username and kept getting an error message telling me that I was using an incorrect username.
I was not.
I went to an old post that I knew I made, and saw that my username now reads ¡Niers!
My actual username is ¡Niers!
Somehow, my username has been changed. I am assuming this to be connected to the recent ePlaya design change. Would there have perhaps been some kind of font conflict with this new design change? I used the spanish exclamation point in my username.
I'd like to get this username back if it's not too much trouble?
Please?
I was not.

Re: Username/login issue
Definitely that would have been the problem. Let's just hope a mod sees this.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I'm gonna flag it and hopefully an admin will pick this up...
Kinda sucks to lose your old name... but I'll keep an eye out. bb, mal, ep

Thanks guys.
I was hoping I wasn't coming off as wining.
I do like the redesign, though. Although, it's gonna take a while to get used to.

Not to me... I had a similar issue once, was a PITA to get straightened out. I don't have Admin rites, otherwise I'd see if it were possible without having to restart all over! But hopefully it will get fixed.

That blows man -
Id help as well but can make backside changes either. I did notice the Name "¡Niers!" isnt taken, perhaps try registering it and see if it will take it. Ifnot you would know there is a font problem, and if so, you have your original name back before its gone,
just an idea,

I'd think something like this would be a simple fix for an admin.
Perhaps almost as simple as me posting this reply.

Re: Username/login issue
I am thinking its the character, I tried to register using it and just went in loops. I looked at the member list as well, I cannot see anyone else using that character in their name. Does not mean it isnt out there though.
The board admins are on and off one of them will see your message soon enough.

Re: Username/login issue
Hey, look how long it took them to just get youtube videos working again...and that effected the entire board. As far as BMORG is concerned, this board is at the bottom of their list, and I'm sure you are at the bottom of that list, assuming they even have eplaya on their list.

Give it time... I know it's a hassle to wait, but we are short on asmins at the moment.. I think it's that thing in the desert or something, and themall having other duties more pressing (like getting the event built and running).
It is a CRAZY time at BMORG... Still have you bookmarked to take care of it. If I had the power I'd do it myself.

Re: Username/login issue
You were close...just add an extra "s" and I think you got it "assmins".
Admins on this board are a joke. And not giving admin privileges to someone like BBS or AntiM or MDMF, who are here all the time, is something there is no excuse for. You don't have to be a computer wizard to perform most of the administration functions on a bulletin board. If those people are not trusted by BMORG that too is shameful.
Sad to say, but true.

Re: Username/login issue
I can understand it, because it DOES carry a lot of authority and responsibility, and if an Admin goes "bad" it would mean immense grief for EVERYONE involved on the board. We've had a couple mods "get dicey" at one time or the other that I can remember... so yeah, I can understand their desire to be really cautious. But no, it doesn't take a deep knowledge to be an Admin (I admin a couple other boards as it is), just a knowledge of what is OK and Not OK and the ability to know how to use the tools.
