I was on a front porch in West Phila, the first time I heard of it, and the guys from PEX are awesome. Have fun.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

Have questions? Read this first: http://www.burningman.com/first_timers/
Everybody on eplaya is always excited to help first timers; but in sympathy for some of us old timers, please get your required reading out of the way before posting. As hard as it is to rein in the the excitement and enthusiasm, and as unbelievable as it might seem, most of your questions have already been asked and answered, if you just take a moment to read.

Now, let the adventure begin!

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Well where do i start lol I have been into the electronic music scene since 1994 attending raves religiously.. Thats where i first learned about the unifying power of music! I also knew about burning man as well and have always wanted to attend! So this year finally is my chance! I have attended Regional Events like the PEX events and always have a great time. Ive had the honor of spinning at a few PEX events, and one of my goals would be to spin at Burning Man but this seems a little bit harder of a task lol

Heres a few urls of various sites i have my dj mixes on.. i spin house, electro, drum and bass and Industrial .. Check them out!

Yeah, it's definitely hard to DJ (at a . . . fancy camp ) at Burning Man. There's a lot of competition, as you may have noticed, and the line-up starts being made a year in advance. And equipment gets trashed by the powdery dust, so I have an inkling that you have to risk your own stuff unless someone is crazy enough to let you mess with theirs. There's no reason you can't do your own thing, however. Or dance this year, make friends and contacts, and internalize the playa.

DJs get razzed pretty hard here on ePlaya. I recommend a good sense of humor and realizing that unless you've been a cocky bastard, it's half in-joke.

I am actually amused that you didn't lead with "I'm a DJ, who wants to kiss my ring?"

We get a lot of that. :)

Thanks for throwing a bit of info out there!
Its good to know who we're 'welcoming'

What is the PEX everyone keeps talking about? Is PEX possibly a typo for PDX (air port in Portland)?
Mighty Mike, shine some light!
