Banana Mango Strawberry Layer Smoothie
Smoothie Ingredients:
Bottom layer:
1 mango, peeled, pitted and chopped
½ cup orange juice
1 tablespoon lime juice
2 tablespoons honey
3 medium ice cubes
Top Layer:
1 banana, chopped
10 strawberries, cut in half
1 tablespoon lime juice
3 medium ice cubes
Directions: In a blender, puree the mango, orange juice, lime juice, honey, and ice cubes, until smooth, and divide amongst 2 straight-sided 8 oz. glasses, and set aside.
Rinse blender, then puree banana, strawberries, lemon juice, and ice cubes, until smooth, and gently pour into glasses while trying to maintain a line separating the layers.

Tropical Smoothie
Makes 6 cups
2 cups canned unsweetened pineapple chunks, juice and all
1 cup coconut milk
3 cups cubed mango, papaya, or peaches: try your best for frozen
1 banana: try your best for frozen
Mix all ingredients in the blender a full minute at high speed until smooth and frothy.

Creamy Strawberry Almond Smoothies
(Makes 2 servings)
3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla or original almond milk or soymilk
1/4 cup canned unsweetened coconut milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 medium banana, sliced
20 raw almonds, chopped
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup or agave syrup
Few drops pure vanilla
Add almond milk, coconut milk, strawberries, banana, almonds, maple syrup and vanilla to blender container. Cover and blend until smooth.

Grapefruit Hibiscus Tea Smoothies
Makes 2 servings
1 large grapefruit
8 hibiscus tea ice cubes
Natural sweetener, if needed
Peel, section and juice grapefruit. (Cut grapefruit into supremes- remove all pith. Discard any seeds.) Add grapefruit sections with juice and hibiscus tea ice cubes to blender container. Cover and blend until slushy. Sweeten to taste.

Vegan Date Shake Smoothies (thank goodness VeganChoirGirl isn't vegan anymore, she might have a problem of someone trying to make her date into a smoothie)
Makes 2 servings
3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla or original almond milk
1/4 cup canned coconut milk
1 medium banana, sliced
6 whole dates, pitted and chopped
Few drops pure vanilla
1 cup ice cubes
Add almond milk, coconut milk, banana, dates and vanilla to blender container. Cover and blend until nearly smooth. Add ice; cover and blend until smooth.

Mango Coconut Water Smoothies
Makes 2 servings
3/4 cup coconut water, chilled
1/4 cup orange juice, chilled
1 cup fresh or frozen mango chunks
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup ice cubes
Add coconut water, orange juice, mango chunks and strawberries to blender container. Cover and blend until smooth. Add ice cubes; cover and blend until slushy. Pour into 2 glasses.
Tip: Be sure to use coconut water for this recipe, not coconut milk. (Although coconut milk would be delicious! If you try it, let me know how it turns out.)
