Hi, all.
I'm in the market for something glowy that I can wear at night, and need some suggestions that aren't DIY. After 7 years of D-ing It mYself (but never any good nighttime lighting stuff, I was always that girl wearing minimum effort of a few glowsticks so's not to get run over), I have NO time to make much of anything this year, and want to instead hopefully support a Burner-owned/Burner-friendly business(person).
I figured this would be the place to ask advice/solutions/product suggestions. Considerations:
-I don't want it to be embedded in/on a heavy jacket
-probably not glow-fur (not a raver, don't want to look like one)
-bright but not necessarily blinky (solid glow would be best)
-something I can wear with more than one outfit (a layer/accessory that provides the illumination?)
I do have a bit of a budget (this is my one splurge this year), but nothing insane.
OK, eplayans, lay it on me.
I want amazing, wearable illumination for this year. Help?

I'd start in the sticky-note Glowies, Blinkies, UVies & Other Illuminations thread just a few above yours.

But click on page 23 first maybe--it's the newest page, has newer links and sales.
People tend to post their light purchases and special promotions codes in the One Thing for Burning Man Per Day thread in this forum. Maybe once per page, or every other page there is a neat light purchase.
And then there's the resource list. Try novelties for ideas:

Thanks, but I'm NOT looking for DIY. I'm looking for Pay-Someone-To-Give-Me-An-Item-Because-I-Don't-Have-Time.

I would commission a local designer to make a long simple dress that could be worn over whatever minimal temp maintaining clothes you need. It would be made of Luminex fabric, illuminated by color changing LED's. The last US distributor folded, so time is of the essence. There are several international ready to wear providers of Luminex clothing.

"The Mini-Top is available in two colors, white and black. It can be ordered online on Luminex’s online store for 175.- Euro but be aware that you have to order the battery pack for 18.- Euro as well as the battery charger for another 14.- Euro. That makes it together 207.- Euro. Not one of the cheapest Top but definitely a very enlightening Top."
Nothing like a $300 top for BM. *cough*

Wow, I'd not heard of Luminex, but DANG that stuff's expensive. A bit out of my price range.... but thanks for telling me about it! It's cool.

No harm. Nothin' like hanging out on Eplaya on a Friday night. Currently cruising the interwebs looking for glowy shit-- PARTY ANIMALS UNITE.

If I had any time at all this year, I'd finally get off my ass and make some glowy stuff. But this year is not that year.

Luminex fabric is relatively expensive, several hundred dollars per yard. You might find the first 2 minutes of this video interesting:
