That Lincoln head is creepy, but the stop is so well shaded that it's a nice place to sleep at. - Personally I like Little America, it's tacky and overpriced as hell, but nothing about it changes, and they can't fuck up a grilled cheese.

So when are you all leaving for the trip west?
I have a little bit of Savannah with me. Shhh...

Hi J Step- The fact that I can't find a link for cornhusker is good! Just the kind of quick stop eatery we are looking for- staying away from chains

Sorry, I realized I screwed up the name and forgot to come back and correct it. It's actually called the Cornstalk Cafe. (I forgot, as we affectionately refer it as the Cornhole Cafe.)

You probably still wont find a link except on google maps I imagine.

Side Trip to the Worlds Biggest Ball of Twine? We might have a day for a side trip and at first glance this looks like a 7 or more hour side trip to be back on 80. Been interested in this man’s and communities obsession and would like to see it. So side trip becomes a maybe.

A few miles east of Lovelock just south of the freeway is a Nevada prison. It is the home of former football player and convicted armed robber OJ Simpson.
Do not bother to stop, he's not available to sign autographs.

a little further east, is "the monument to Thunder Mountain", or, what's left of it.

Oh my,
I must drop in to see that ball of twine.

Will have to rethink journey to ensure I can fit it in.

Also, wondering if the town of "Liberal" in Kansas is actually Liberal...
