On Playa Texting Continues in 2011

Last year's open source GSM texting (T-mobile, ATT phones) is planning to be back in 2011. Not sure about Verizon phones. Controversial, whatever.

and exactly the type of thing that burning man allows us to do that cant be easily done elsewhere.


the luddites can enjoy their smoke signals, but i think that having the ability to create a small self contained texting network within burningman is great... and really maybe less annoying than carrying around fancy radios on yer hip.

Cool project for people who want that sort of thing, but for me, getting liberated from my devices for a week is worth the entire ticket price.
